Re: 2020 Hyundai Palisade

I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Limited, and I feel like I got a ton of car for the $ (bought used). Leather heated seats (front and back), a pretty dang good sound system, bluetooth phone audio, a moonroof that hasn't given me any trouble, and the little things like heated side mirrors. Also gets abo...

Re: (P)Review of Lucky Brand quartz chrono purchase

Thanks for the review! There's a model available at Nordstrom Rack that has a blue dial and syringe hands that looks pretty attractive...but it's interesting to see your photos and realize that yes, you do get more than just a better movement when you buy a "real" watch over a "fashion" watch--you g...

Re: $1+ Chinese Nato Strap Review

I've bought a number of $2 chinese natos. Haven't noticed the springbar issues, but I do notice that the holes where I fasten the buckle tend to stretch with wear. The fabric also is obviously much lower quality than what you'd get from even CNS or HNS straps. That being said, there's no better way ...

Here is why you shouldn't buy a Ginault watch, and more reasons why WUS is shady

Looked at the Wyoming SOS filings. It really is filed with forum handles and inconsistent address completion (one uses caps, one doesn’t). That filing was done by someone who wants to make trouble for Vail and WUS. It’s a cousin to SWATing. Whoever actually filed it probably has violated numerous st...

Re: Custom shell cordovan strap from vnhandmadeleather on etsy

That looks incredible!!! I have a feeling that in real life that leather color must make that Mido dial absolutely pop! Well done, and can't wait to see some wrist shots on both of those watches. Sent from my LG-M322 using Tapatalk I should have thought of this before, but just brightening the phot...

Custom shell cordovan strap from vnhandmadeleather on etsy

I’ve been looking for my first shell cordovan strap to use as a dress strap for a while, and hadn’t been able to find quite what I wanted for a reasonable price (especially since I wanted it for my 2 19mm watches). I finally decided to try ordering a custom strap from vnhandmadeleather on etsy; dana...

Got mine today and it solved the issue nicely (and the tropic strap was a nice gesture).

Re: Christopher Ward imploding

I just bought my first CW (used) and would love to add the Malvern Moonphase someday. But the things that pushed me into the decision to buy (beyond liking the design, obviously), was the positive CS reputation and the warranty, both of which have now become the centers of the recent controversy. Ho...

Re: Vacation watch strategy

I usually bring 3 or more and what I usually find is that 2 would have been plenty. However, I just went through your IG, and have decided that you should bring 3. You should bring the Hamilton UTC, the CW C65 and the Smiths. That will have you covered for all bases. Great collection BTW and I espe...

Aye. That’s why I was curious how other watch-obsessed folks approach their watch obsession with their R&R trips. :) Thanks for the replies everyone.

If I still had a GMT the choice would be obvious.

Re: Vacation watch strategy

I used to take a 3 watch roll plus one on the wrist, which had me covered for all bases. But after a recent scare of leaving said roll at the hotel and having it disappear(it didn't, Mrs. Dub Rubb just put it in a "safe" place when she unpacked my suitcase), I changed my mindset. This is kind of my...
