Re: Ashford

The last one I bought was from a year ago. I bought a few over the years. All without issues.

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

How did everyone do in 2020? Plans for 2021? 2020, a year in which I thought I was going to slow down to only a handful of new purchases at best, turned out to be a year of less purchases. Aside from an expanded collection of wearables approaching 30 but in flux with a few on the way out, I only re...

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

Kind of sticking to the plan mentioned, just focus on those watches on your wish or to buy list that were discounted in the discount season, to resist side deals or impluse buy. That may help. Happy hunting.

Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020

While folks are hunting for the citizen brands, Ashford is having BF sale too. Notably, the Hamilton power reserve models looks like quite a deal. $589 for the following variant. And a 10% discount coupon looks like available to make it even cheaper.

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

I really have an urge to pick up an Oris Sixty-Five Divers, but I also want to save up for something else like a JLC Reverso. I don't know where I want to go with my collection. There are a bunch of watches in the several hundred dollars range that I want to get, but I'm not sure how much I would w...

Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020

Purchase Direct has restocked a bunch of Eternas either through their direct site or ebay. I have this model on bracelet and it is super cool. Well at least to me. https://www.purchasedirect.com/product/ETERNA-1290.41.59.1753-Mens-KonTiki-White-Automatic-Watch/35230 Its gone...luckily, for my walle...

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

I find a good question to ask myself about any deal I see is "Do I actually like the watch? Or do I just want a new watch?". Very often it's the latter. I feel that craving for something new pretty strongly, but I know that unless I really, honestly like the watch a lot I'm going to feel ...

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

I feel like I belong in here because I have stupid spending habits on watches lol. I'll go weeks without buying anything then suddenly in 1 week I'll buy like 5 watches in one go. This hobby is a wild ride [emoji41] Trying super hard to resist any more purchases until 2021 and I am trying to sell m...

Re: Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2020

https://watchain.com/ Here is a website with some very limited edition Casio and Seiko at good prices. Too many to list them all but the G-Shocks especially are good values. Here are a few deals that jumped out at me... lots of these have been sold out long ago and are sought after by collectors ht...

Re: Sticking to your convictions... with a little help from your friends

Last week I pulled the trigger on the deal I posted for the for the Casio G-Shock MT-G at Macy's. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I had thought it over, didn't feel that it had a solid place in my rotation. I decided I would return it when it arrived. It arrived today and I immediately made m...

Re: Cortman's Custom eBay Searches

Personally, I screen out those for bidding, just focus on those buy it now. I don't believe the sellers will fulfill with those too good to be true price to bidders. I dont have much experience in bidding though.

Re: Watch Purchase Control Group (WPCG)

Sporkboy brought up another good point, how to stay interested in the hobby aside from looking for watches. I recently bought a Timegrapher after much hesitation due to hearing all the tales about the accuracy adjustment rabbit hole that it can become. After seeing before and after photos showing a...

Re: My Watches

I'm a little behind on this thread. There are a couple updates! In late August our own @yinzburgher posted a deal on these Zodiac Grandrally quartz chronographs from Watchstation. The Grandrally is almost a reissue of the chronographs made by Zodiac and Heuer back in the 70's and 80's. Heuer actual...
