Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
Change of plan. I'm still taking part, but I've been inspired by others here to wear a watch from the collection that doesn't get enough love. Rather than my Tudor I'll be wearing my Glycine "The Chief", probably with a grey MN strap, as per this pic of mine. This watch has been getting 0 ...

Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
I got some good news about my Tudorr today so it looks likely that I'll be taking part.
Just for clarification, can I buy any watches in the month?

Re: August 2020 Watch Fast
If my Tudor comes back from repair by the 1st Aug then I'm in! I miss it so much, it's been in forced lockdown in the Tudor factory as I sent it for warranty work just before COVID hit.

Two votes? Great. I assume voting for yourself is verboten?

Closest is probably Glycine Combat 6 Classic or Combat Classic Vintage

Love it. It's quirky. Gratuitous use of banana is a bit bold in order to gain an unfair advantage!

More stunning entries. All of these watches, although old, small, simple, cheap are stunning in their own right and are a wonderful example of form follows function.

Re: $35 Mechanical Field Watch Challenge
Lovely watch Sporkboy . That case shape, wow. And I really love the 20/40/60 second divisions in the seconds sub-dial. Another cracking entry. I even like the bund.

Re: Challenge Rejects
A0BDF255-DC05-4336-9316-95A7DA61D2B4.jpeg@Animal Mother it looks like the hairspring has slipped to the left in this image. That should be held tight, but it has gone past where it should. This would shorten the hairspring and make it run fast. I have a movement that I did this too, but I haven’t t...

Re: $35 Mechanical Field Watch Challenge
TheJohnP Lovely entry pal. I've got a feeling that both of our watches have some commonality/shared family/heritage. I think they use the same case (same drilling, shape, chamfering, caseback type) and both use AS movements.

Re: $35 Mechanical Field Watch Challenge
Bravo @Animal Mother! That is a beautiful watch that anyone would be proud to have in their collection. When you toss in the price and the fact that it nails the challenge criteria... :o Thank you. Check out my rejects on the other thread, it's astounding that this was the cheapest of them all. Eve...

Re: $35 Mechanical Field Watch Challenge
Well, I made a good showing in the first challenge, but I am blown away by the first entry @Animal Mother. I didn’t think anybody would find anything remotely as nice looking and as perfectly ‘field watch’ as this watch. Very well done. As for any advantage you have in staging pictures with your ol...
