Seiko alpinist SARB017? What do you guys think...

So ever since the LE came and gone...Ive been thinking about the Alpinist. Since im not willing to pay for a 3x mark up, what do you guys think about the Green? The numnerals...its raised...I assume its not gold. I read about them here. But I'm not experienced in choosing watch.

Also whats the best deal you guys have seen?

These go for $350 to $400 on reddit pretty much every day. People seem to love them. In the past they have popped up on Amazon for $350 or so, but it's been a while.

With the announcement that they are bringing them back (see viewtopic.php?p=33207#p33207) it's unclear how that will affect pricing of the older ones. My guess is it stays pretty stable since the new ones are estimated to be ~$700.

I have one, it's a keeper for me. Others feel the opposite about it. It's a popular watch that evoke strong opinions on both sides, mostly positive from what I have seen.
