Congrats everybody. Thank you for the shoutouts to the MoT Watch project, it has been a lot of fun. This project would have been a dud if it weren't for the involvement of a whole lot of forum members that have contributed little bits here and there that set me on whole new paths.
What has been built here is a community of practice (in educational terms). We come here to practice something shared and all pick up things here and there from other members. To me, this is the true purpose of the internet (not porn, but that's likely a close second).
Matt built the structure, but without the forum members, this place would not be the MoT forum that we have come to love. Thank you Matt and thank you everyone (even the lurkers).
In listening to the Two Broke Watch Snobs podcast, they keep mentioning that they started off because there wasn't a friendly place on the internet to talk about watches. While that was true in years past, I like to think that the MoT forum has made these feelings outdated. We have a friendly and inclusive corner of the web, and I hope that it continues to grow in a way that maintains that.
Here's to another great year.

Thank you to MoT, the moderators, and the participants that have made this a great community over the past year. I've seen this community grow quite a bit in just a year, and not just with the deals thread that was really only the humble beginning.
I was fortunate enough to have found and joined this place from the beginning and I find it remarkable that over the past year it has generally been devoid of all the problems that caused its creation.
Congratulations to all of us on building a friendly and welcoming community. Here's to many more anniversaries!

Wow, I can't believe it has been a whole year! What can I say that hasn't already been said. Whatever, I don't care if I'm being redundant. First off, huge thanks to MoT for the initiative to start this place albeit for selfish reasons(he just NEEDS those stats! [emoji6]). The demise of the OG HUISABH thread really had me down, as I was just coming into my stride from out of the shadows.
Then this place came along and changed my opinion on not just watch forums, but the internet in general. There IS a friendly place where even people with differing opinions can discuss them freely and civily. It really is remarkable and only possible thanks to all the great members here and of course the mods. Big thanks to FTE (you didn't think I'd forget did you?) and TheJohnP.
Thanks to everybody posting here, not just deals, bit every corner of this great place. You all deserve some recognition. It always brightens my day when somebody chimes in with "this is my first post but check out this deal!"
I am looking forward to many years to come. In honor of the anniversary, I share with you the first watch I bought from this thread, and my favorite watch purchased from this thread.

A year already?? Where has the time gone? (See what I did there?)
Thank you MoT, all the contributors and every member who all collaborate to make this a terrific place! I love to stop by and look at the deals and the other fora and I'm especially happy when I can find a deal before the heavy hitters every once in a while to post.
Happy Holidays and great 2020 to all...especially MoT and the Mrs! Cheers.

I lift this Guinness to all y'all. We've done it. One year ... I think we've hit escape velocity. Interesting to think what future years will bring. I think a Black Friday live video stream would be fun.
I'm getting sentimental as I enjoy my drink and read your posts. All I can think to say is what I said early on: I didn't know what I was missing at WUS until it was replaced by MOT. It is like a secret mystery that we all discovered (created?) together. Makes me wonder what other, undiscovered mysteries there are.
I finally put this PADI on my wrist for the occasion. Just realized, looking at the photo, that its "deal" Christmas strap has an off-center stripe. Lol ... sometimes you get the deal, sometimes the deal gets you.

MoT's inhabitants put aside all differences for one thing: more watches.
In my short time lurking here, I have been convinced that this place does not judge and shows only more love for the hobby.
Thanks MoT, the members, and the deals!

Cheers fellas... and here's to many more years of deals.

I was a regular at the WUS forum, but for some stupid reason I was slow on the uptake and it took me until March 2019 to find MoT. Anyway, this is a very cool forum. Fun fact: I am a very lucky man because my better half is also a watch enthusiast so ladies' watches are in play. Attached is a pic of my latest two MoT inspired watches that now have a good home (Eterna Granges and Mr Jones Venn Diagram).

Thank you, thank you, Matt, mods and members! As a former lurker and relative watch newbie I can say without hesitation that this community has made my interest in our hobby an order of magnitude more enjoyable. I don't have a lot of time to spend online, but this has become my go to. I learn something everyday and thank each of you for that!
May I plug Dub Rubb 's LWDS thread? It is a lot of fun and results in me wearing pieces that I otherwise would not. That is just one example of the community here.
Happy anniversary MoT and friends! Here is to another year!

Happy birthday to the forum!
I'm a big lurker and this is my go-to place for keeping up with and learning about watches. I appreciate how much this forum has taught me and how welcoming and positive the place is. Even when I'm not in the market for a new watch I come here because I just love to see them and I'm always exposed to new pieces here.
So, thank you all and it's lovely to see the forum celebrated!
Happy holidays
