Complaint of the Day
Re: Complaint of the Day
There went part of my watch budget. The new dog grabbed my computer bifocal glasses off my desk. She chewed them up pretty good. It would be amusing if it was actually time to get a new prescription and new pair. Instead, I just forked out $200 for a new pair. (sigh)

I have to go on vacation and I don’t want to. I’m pissed off. My wife wants it so she gets it. I guess I’ll have more time to hang out here.

Well this has taken a turn! A bit premature for a divorce lawyer...I hope.
What’s the town in FL? If you fly through ATL or DAL, maybe you can “save money” on the tickets and stay a night....plenty of AD’s.

Re: Complaint of the Day
It’s a strange thing to complain about but I get it. My new job only allows me to rollover 5 days of PTO, whereas my previous employer allowed me to rollover 29 days. I’m going to be forced to use more PTO (or lose it).

Wife takes WIS hubby on vacation to a place that's back of beyond where there are no watch dealers.
That's passive aggressive behavior.

Maybe time for some beach shots of those divers... Last time we went to the beach my biggest packing decision was which 5 watches to bring (4 in a roll + 1 on the wrist). I took it as a watchertunity to get some patina on my bronze diver.

Re: Complaint of the Day
Today really tested the limits of my german speaking. A pipe burst inside the wall between floors of our apartment building this afternoon. About 6 inches of water filled the lower level. The tenants and I could not reach anyone from building management, so I jimmyed the lock to the water closet where we tried to close the valves. Unfortunately they are 50+ years old and not maintained, so no dice. All the german tenants grabbed buckets and spent 2 hours scooping out water as fast as they could. We finally reached the property management company, who called the lowest cost provider available. They showed up in about an hour. As the German clown car tried to figure out the proper protocol, we started grabbing what we could and carrying it to safety. After the water had risen another 3 inches, the “experts” finally stopped the water at the source. The next 3 hours were a comedic progression of them deploying a canister vac to remove the standing water, realizing the extraction pump from the 70’s was not working, bringing in a replacement...also from the 70’s, then comandeering a sterilite box of mine with a third pump (see photo). We removed what we could, but now get to spend the rest of the evening sorting through our water-logged possessions. We will have no running water for at least 4 days, perhaps longer. I just got back from the store with 3 cases of bottled water. Not the Saturday I had planned. But, at least we have beer...and Jagermeister.
