Seiko Mods......still going broke!

Post by CVP33 »

Recently purchased 2 Seiko mods + a 1st gen Black monster. Bug officially bites and I now have 7 additional Seiko mods + a 1st gen Orange monster inbound. Damn this hobby! More, better pix when they land state side.

I love everything about this as it makes me feel better about owning only 4 SKX's. I will however recommend a Strapcode super oyster when LIW has them on sale. Great bracelet that will break up the excessive jubilee situation. However, the stock jubilee is surprisingly amazing once you get the end links to stop rattling. I am glad to see the bracelets over the terrible stock rubber strap.

Anyways, you are off to a good start, and I am looking forward to when you find out that turtles aren't THAT big! Congrats, and I LOVE the mods so far. Effing Seiko is the cocaine of the watch world.

I know the feeling. I have 3 SKX013's and 2 of each SKX009 and SKX007. I picked up some oysters, jubilees and super engineers that are the same quality as Strap Code for 33% to 50% of the price. All of his 18/20mm bracelets come with a Seiko etched clasp as well. Here's the sellers listing.

I like the Philippine modders work above. Very inexpensive (under $125) and she did a great job sourcing me the 2 monsters - orange was $155 and the black was $125.

The Seiko - SNZD81K1 arrived today. I'm not a fan of that type leather strap. A new super engineer and she just feels right.

All beautiful mods CVP! I own a modded Seiko that I purchased a few months ago, however the bezel insert and crystal were left stock. I hope to be changing that this weekend and replacing the crystal with double domed sapphire and adding a ceramic insert. It'll be my first time modding. Pretty excited.

I'll be practicing on a cheap Invicta first haha
