Right!
~170mph is the fastest I've driven that front straight.

Re: Fuel Sniffers Anonymous (The Thread For Car Nuts)
The event I am going to next weekend: http://www.powercruisebir.com, the only US stop on the Australian based http://www.powercruise.com. This will be the 11th US one, and I have been to all but two. A few friends and I operate the US based social media pages, so we get comped VIP admission, etc.
Anyway, the on-track "cruising sessions" are essentially everything you wish you could do on the street, but on a race track where you won't get pulled over. Every year I rent a car. It's usually been mundane sedans, but you better believe I put them through their paces. Last year I had an EcoBoost Mustang with the optional performance package. That car was a hoot.
This year, I have a Lincoln Continental.
For on-track sessions we had a replica Minnesota license plate made that says "PC LIMO", and because of the sense of humor I have, I bought and will be wearing this for some of the time:
It's going to be a very subdue event this year: no spectators apart from pit crew that have nothing else to do, but it still should be a lot of fun.

Re: Fuel Sniffers Anonymous (The Thread For Car Nuts)
Had a great time out at Laguna Seca today with my father-in-law. This was his birthday/father's day gift; I think I nailed it. I had never done a track day and had a blast, definitely going to be headed back soon. It was really smokey with all the fires around here, but did end up clearing later in the day. Thankfully there was only one incident all day. Poor guy went off the track and hit the wall, but I heard he was ok.

Did your father-in-law get a run in your car or did he take his own?

Honestly, one of the best/funnest day in a long while. It was nice to do something normal amid COVID and the fires.
My father-in-law is in the white BMW in front of me at the start and behind me on the corkscrew. I smoked him!

Pretty crazy to think the Williams family won't be involved in F1.

Re: Fuel Sniffers Anonymous (The Thread For Car Nuts)
Heard about this the other day but didn't watch the video. Holy hell that is fast. I did a 1:57 in my S4. Doing 147 headed up the first hill into turn one is ridiculous. It's a blind turn because you're going up a hill and then immediately turn into the Andretti Hairpin. I couldn't get myself to get over 130 there. Everytime I'd back off. Cool vid and thanks for sharing.
