Good thing of the day

Post by peskydonut »

The yang to Complaint of the Day's yin.

I'll start...

Since we bought our place back in September, we've been paying both mortgage and rent. Yesterday we got word that they might have a new tenant for our old place (application pending), which would finally get us out of the lease. I'm cautiously optimistic 🤞. It would certainly be nice to not part with that $1600/mo.

Well, now that you’ve said it... you kind of have to do it. That’s how posting on the interwebz works [emoji23]

Haha. Yes, I too frequently forget that money works for things other than watches.

Good thing of the day is I made the top 0.1% of Spotify listeners for my favorite artist for the second year running. :) This in spite of doing the majority of my listening to hi def albums offline.

Quick update...

Tenant was approved and signed a lease!

Espresso and rock-n-roll while cranking out some good code. I'm not quite in the zone, but I can see it from here.

Nice! "The Zone" is real!

If I'm coding by myself, which rarely happens these days (mostly pair-programming), I need music without lyrics or lyrics in a language I can't comprehend. Otherwise my brain just runs away with the words.

Today is my son's birthday. We're not doing a party because of Covid, we did about five video call this evening. I gotta say, this was by far the best birthday. My wife and I enjoyed seeing the joy and energy in my son. It's so invigorating.
