Re: Some Personal News
MoT,
Glad to hear everything appears to have gone well for your wife and that she is home and resting.

I was a total dolt earlier and forgot to post the pic of the card.
A lovely message, it is appreciated.

Dang it, you all are making me get moist-eyed.
We'll keep you two in our thoughts and prayers. The healing will take some time.
All the best.
And props to FTE for the good work.

Re: Some Personal News
Mrs.Mot wanted me to let everyone know that the progress is slow, but that's expected. Her pain is lessening, but still significant. However, it's not significant enough to the point she feels she needs to use the narcotic pain killers she was prescribed.
She absolutely adores the flowers. Both of us were very surprised at the Kindle that arrived for her as well. She's been spending a lot of her waking hours using it while resting.
She hopes to log on soon and post her own update.

I'm very late to this thread, but I wanted to extend my best wishes to MMoT for a speedy and complete recovery. It's great to hear that she's doing well.

Re: Some Personal News
You guys.
YOU. GUYS.
Seriously, WTF. The flowers were a gorgeous surprise, and still so damn fragrant - every time I lurch into the living room, I'm hit with a wall of scent (it's the lilies, it's always the lilies, and they're effing enormous, I sh*t you not), and just dazzled all over again. But a freaking new Kindle as well?!?!! WHO DOES THAT. You are all incredibly generous, and I offer my deepest and most sincere thanks to each of you.
I tend to overshare, so I'll try to keep it brief: convalescence has been slow, and is finally starting to feel better. The only time I've been in the hospital prior to this is to be born. Literally. I am phobic about needles, so I make it a point NOT to go see doctors. This has been a traumatic experience if only due to the number of times I have been stuck with things while awake and aware. We're a week out now, and the greatest hurdle has been the insane amount of gas retention, which no one even warned us was a possibility. It's finally working its way through, so I'm moving a bit better and feeling far less inclined to stab things.
Your support is amazing, and I know MoT appreciates it, every word, every thought. THANK YOU.

Have you ever, like, walked naked to the fridge in the middle of the night to get a drink or something, and then you realized that someone saw you? And then you realized you're kind of into it? If not, then it never happened to me, either. Ever.

Re: Some Personal News
An update:
MrsMoT is having an infusion port put in on Tuesday to start 3-6 cycles of chemo on the 29th, which also happens to be her birthday. The infusions will be once every 21 (or so) days.
We're in good spirits and the prognosis is very favorable, especially considering her age and the fact that she's generally very healthy otherwise.
Thank you all for your continued well wishes.

Chemo's a bummer. But better having it than not having it. And it's gonna be so great when it's over!
Stay strong, Mrs. MoT.
