Yep, much prefer BMW. My E36 was great, but yeah, the E46 was temperamental. They both did offer great driving experience.

Haha! :D I won't survive the nuclear apocalypse though....

I do like the older Merc diesels. And if I had the money and style (and don't care about money going down the drain), I'd love to have a G class.

But what if you were in a 300D covered in **** at the time?

These are both 2 of my absolute favorites. They would reside in my dream garage next to a Lancia delta integrale and a VW Golf Rallye. Love those box flairs!

A collection of random thoughts:

I ripped my jeans yesterday as I got into the car.....right along the ass pocket. As annoyed as I was about it, there's just something funny about splitting your pants so I couldn't help but laugh as I went back inside to change.

Watchuseek is in read only mode for the weekend while the forum gets updated. I'm very curious to see how it changes. The site was way overdue for some sort of upgrade. I wonder if TimeZone will ever bother to do the same.

Driving a rental Nissan Sentra with an automatic transmission is every bit as boring as it sounds. Even as **** as my own car is, it's way more fun to drive. I'm guessing bc it's manual transmission and bc I don't care what happens to it, so I can absolutely push it to the limit.

I just paid off my mortgage. While I'm definitely happy about it, I don't feel the same sense of accomplishment that I did after I paid off my credit cards, my car, and my student loans. I thinks it's bc I put my money towards getting rid of the balance rather than making the house nicer. So now I'm still left with a (paid-off) house that needs a lot of work. I don't think I would do it differently but I can see why others would.

I ain't gettin' any better looking.

I am predicting utter chaos when it comes back up. Remember the s**tshow when they forced password resets a while back? Good times.

And WatchInTyme had some kind of data crash recently where everyone there had to re-register. Blergh.

Blergh indeed! I am guessing many WUS hardcore members had a lot of free time this past weekend. :)

Just had a random thought - I am so glad I can say "WUS" here without fear of getting banned. ;)

Oops, another random thought - have you ever liked a post and wanted to like it, only to find out it's your own? Well, I just did.

For anyone interested, the new WUS site is up. If you're familiar with TheWatchSite/SCWF, this uses the same forum format/software. People will bitch like crazy at first but I can tell you this will be a huge improvement. I think MoT's site has more and better functionality but this other one is good too. I already copied and pasted a new release post over there and it turned out fine. It's early though.......it could all go pear-shaped....

My login worked and it's playing nicely with Tapatalk, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Well, I've decided to try cycling and I bought a REI CTY 1.1 Hybrid Bike... Apparently there's been a run on bikes and at 6'3" my choices were limited. I should have it in 3 weeks or so.

Anyhow, I'm a total noob but there's a vast but not not interconnected network of trails where I live. I'm gonna try my hand at commuting 10 miles a day at least twice a week and see how it goes. I'm mostly worried about riding on the side of the road, where there's no side walk and minimal shoulder. My city is tearing up a bunch of roads to put in useless roundabouts because communism.

Anyhow, what have you guys tried this summer?

I used to live in Eugene, Oregon, a bike-friendly city, so I rode a bit. Do you have a friend to ride with, perhaps someone who is more experienced? I think that'd help. It did for me. Like driving a car - always signal!!! I was a bit wobbly when signaling left though. And of course, for the love of your head and everything else, wear a helmet!!!! This comes from a brain injury specialist.

Thanks to COVID, my pool was closed so I picked up running again. Amazingly my knees did not start to hurt like they always did, so I am happy and thankful I can continue to run. I am not great but I am getting better.

I hope you have some wonderful rides!!!!! :) Take some pictures!

^Thanks man, unfortunately my friends think I'm an idiot for trying this. Mostly there is a good 2-3 miles most riders deem "dangerous" and will instead go 5+ miles to avoid, but that involves gravel or a steep incline and i don't have the means/desire to deal with that.

If it absolutely sucks I might catch an uber for the return trip at night. I'm aware too many cyclists have lost limb or life in the little death trap the commies on city council love to add more and more roundabouts to (the gigantic can't see what's around the corner, not even a 4 way intersection.... it's kind of just there type of roundabout). Especially in winter the road is poorly designed so ice builds on half of it and less so on the other half. This sends cars spinning into the ditch and MAN vs. CAR tends to mean dude lives a disabled life but some d bag on the city council can point his pinky up and pretend to be a French aristocrat.

They have a 3 year plan to finish a bike trail that will resolve this problem.... but gotta build death traps and roundabouts first.

Just on a side note/rant roundabouts might work in Europe but American drivers are prone to accidents when they encounter one. If the speed limit is over 35 one shouldn't be built and no lowering the speed limit JUST to put in a roundabout is equally dumb.
