Re: Random Thoughts
My kids looking pdsf's avatar...
Daughter: What's that?
Me: That's a picture he chose for his avatar.
Daughter: What's he doing?
Me: He's screaming.
Daughter: Why? Is it because he saw a dinosaur?
Me: Definitely

Re: Random Thoughts
Haha! She's absolutely right! I do that when I see dinosaurs, watches costing as much as a house downpayment, etc. That's why I have a similar avatar over at WUS:peskydonut wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 9:11 pm My kids looking @pdsf's avatar...

P.S. I was obsessed with dinosaurs for a while when I was a kid.

Re: Random Thoughts
As we signed our closing paperwork today, there was a sheet with a bunch of questions. Those that were relevant to our situation had to be initialized, others needed an "N/A" written next to them. I found my self pondering how confusing life must be for the "Nick Anderson"s of the world.

Re: Random Thoughts
Thank you. What a strange day. Last week it was around 100 degrees and raining ash from the sky; today it snowed. The title company office was off-limits, so we did our closing in the parking lot. Our agent was parked in the spot next to us, the notary was in the spot behind us. The poor notary lady dashed from car to car with the documents. A truly bizarre experience, but par for the course in 2020.pdsf wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:16 pmThank you. To go further off-topic: I've been looking at Subarus for a second/beater car, but it's hard to find one that had the timing belt done.

Re: Random Thoughts
Speaking of manual transmissions...I can't get over this.
We have some engineering interns. One is a junior mechanical engineering major. Someone noticed his fifteen-or-something year old Tacoma and said, "I had a truck just like that and loved it! Is yours a manual or an automatic."
Blank look on the interns face, then he says..."I don't know. I'm not much of a car guy."
That bothers me on two levels. Obviously, there are some people who have never seen a manual transmission (heck, some 16 year olds around here are not interested in driving)...but he is a mechanical engineering major
Rant off.
