Re: Rolex Flip Challenge
Tip of the Day: How to Create an eBay Listing
Teachers in school told you to do your own work. In the real world, there is no need to repeat the work that someone else has already done.
1. Search eBay for the item you want to list.
2. Click SOLD ITEMS.
3. Sort by price from high to low.
4. Find the highest priced sold item similar to yours and click on it.
5. Click SELL SIMILAR to create a pre-populated listing based on the successfully sold listing.
6. Add your own item photos and description.
7. Check the rest of the fields and make any necessary changes.
8. Use all 80-characters in the title if possible. By default, buyers only search by item title (NOT description). Use words that buyer would search for including model numbers.
9. Verify the shipping information. Check the eBay Global Shipping box.
10. Check everything one last time and list your item for sale!
Bonus Tip: For fixed price listings, promote the listings 1% (or more if you want). This gets a lot more eyes on your item. This does not work for auctions.

Re: Rolex Flip Challenge
Thank you very much for this BD. I haven't sold anything on eBay yet, but have at least a dozen watches just waiting. These seem to be great guidelines that I will surely use and I appreciate you sharing them here. There is no substitute for experience!BillionaireDoors wrote:Tip of the Day: How to Create an eBay Listing

Flip of the Day
As I suggested in the deals thread, a buyer in Italy is going to be very happy to get their limited edition USA-only Bulova Computron. They only had to pay roughly what it would have cost them in Italy if it were sold there. Everybody wins!

$69.88 Sold Price
$9.08 eBay + PayPal fees
$11.62 Shipping
$9.99 Buy Cost
$39.19 Net Profit
I've found several great items in the luggage/laptop bag/backpack area of thrift stores. Seems like this area is often overlooked. There are a lot of high-quality name brands with good resale value.

Tip of the Day
Anybody hit any yard sales or estates sales today? Not sure where to find them?
Download Yardsale Treasure Map on your phone. It pulls yard sale info from Craigslist and puts it in map form so that you can plan your route.
https://www.estatesales.net is a great site for finding local estate sales. Most sales will have plenty of photos a day or two before the sale so that you can get some idea what they have. For 2-day sales, the second day is often 50% off!

Bought several of these in various sizes. This is the last one to sell. Buying multiples of an item is a huge time saver since you only have to take photos and make a listing once.
$69.88 Sold Price
$9.08 eBay + PayPal fees
$7.42 Shipping
$21.39 Buy Cost
$31.99 Net Profit

Re: Rolex Flip Challenge
Thrift stores work any time of day. In fact, I often see the ones here being restocked in the afternoon/evening. Find out their sale schedule and which stores tend to get which types of items.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 7:38 pmI would be interested in scoping these out, but prefer to sleep in on weekends if at all possible.BillionaireDoors wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 1:42 pm

I found a very rare "24K Polar Puff" brand plush toy yesterday. As in Google can't find a single mention of one anywhere. There are 394 active eBay listings and 53 sold for the brand, so it's fairly popular. Some have sold for nearly $100. Let's see if anybody wants this one.

Congratulations! I looked into this a while ago and it wasn't something a casual flipper would qualify for.BillionaireDoors wrote:"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

I've found that selling some adhoc personal items on Ebay has been much easier than selling watches. I'm sure it depends on the item and price though.
Thanks for sharing.

The more you sell, the more you CAN sell. eBay just doubled my selling limits.

Flip of the Day
Went to a "picker" estate sale a week ago. The idea is that you take all of the items you want to the checkout and they give a total price for everything. They do this when there are far too many items for the sellers to price everything individually. I paid $200 for several items including this one. Selling this got me the $200 back after fees, so the rest of the items were "free". One of the other items was a Harley-Davidson neon clock that should sell for at least $200.

Re: Rolex Flip Challenge
On this style sales, they may have multiple cashiers that value things differently. I have found older people can generally value things lower than younger people.BillionaireDoors wrote:Flip of the Day

Re: Rolex Flip Challenge
Is anyone getting any benefit from this thread? I hope it's inspiring some of you to go out and try, or at least cash in the junk you have sitting around your houses.
Flip of the Day
Picked up a few pocket watches at an estate sale. I was kind of hoping this one wouldn't sell so that I could get a stand and display it. It really does run for 8 days.
$300 Sold Price
$39 eBay + PayPal fees
$10.59 Shipping
$180 Buy Cost
$70.41 Net Profit

Tip of the Day
Use a camera app that allows you full control of your camera. Try to make the photo bright enough to match what the item looks like in real life, and make sure it is in focus.
I prefer white back grounds. You can use white poster board from Dollar Tree.
Which of these items would you be more likely to click on?
