Timeless Luxury Watches - thoughts?

Post by TheJohnP »

There's a watch at Timeless Luxury in TX that I have my eye on that is currently on sale.
But curious if they're the kind of store that would work with you on an even bigger discount.

Got some feedback from tinpusher from the MoT Discord chat, but wondering if anyone else has good/bad/indifferent experiences with them.

Are they the kind of place to negotiate and offer a better price?
Or are they "that's the price" kind of retailer?

Let me know.
Thanks!

AD or authorized I don't analyze
Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find

As a follow up I ended up calling the store on Tuesday, but appears I got a message service.

It's Thursday and they've yet to return my call.

Less and less impressed.

They never call back. I've tried getting in touch several times via phone, facebook and email. No response. I bought a Zodiac watch from them back in March and while they shipped the watch quickly, didn't hear anything much after that.

I've sent messages through their website. No response. I've sent PMs on WUS. Got a few responses, then nothing. Finally, called regarding a watch and bought it. They called back a few hours later to tell me it was already sold. No apologies. No attempts at trying to make up for it. Asked if I wanted anything else, I said I would think about it. Sent an email a little while later inquiring about another watch and also asking for a discount on one of their NOMOS LEs that had been sitting for awhile, hoping for a make up of some sorts on their snafu on the attempted purchase. Heard nothing back. Definitely wasn't impressed. Vowed to never purchase from them. Like the weak WIS I am, I did end up purchasing a watch several months later (it was already marked at a great deal, no further discounts). Didn't even get a thanks. I don't expect much. I'm really not that kind of customer. I promise that I'm not. But the lack of attention to customer service in my limited dealings with them wouldn't have me recommending them. However, I've read plenty of over the top praise for them so they must be good to some people.

That is really great feedback Penfold36.

Still no call back and not sure I'll reach back out.
Since I'm interested in a discounted watch, I get the feeling I'm not worth their time.

Always other watches and places to buy them.

I know this is an old thread, but I recommend you watch them rotate through brands and ask why that would be. For example, they come out with a special Timeless limited edition Damasko, then they’re not selling Damasko anymore.

Beyond that, I think the “shop worn” section is less than savory for brands selling their watches at Timeless. Again, think it through. Shop worn just means they’re selling below the prices they’re allowed to sell at without the brand dropping them. With all of the rotating brands, how many dropped them?

Beyond THAT, they push financing deals, which in my opinion is unsavory considering watches are a luxury.

Not a fan.

I had a pleasant experience picking up a GS “shop worn special” two years back but have since had very poor communication with them regarding a subsequent purchase and, on a different occasion, a trade-in.

They do an awfully poor job at offering the whole luxury experience. But the same can be said with MANY AD’s.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but they sold out to Watches of Switzerland. I’m sure they are thrilled as they never seemed like watch people. They seemed like money people.

I had gotten to know a few of them a little and they were watch guys for sure. Dan the owner was a GS aficiando through and through. They did seem to cater to a what I will call a Red Bar clientelle vs a WUS or MOT tyoe customer. So chitchat wasnt their strong suit.
