Tissot le locle from eBay seller everydaydealsince1997

Post by chicharo »

Model t0064072203300

I compared the caseback from Tissot website and my watch. I can notice a difference on the serial number. Is my watch a replica?

Thanks for the help

First thing to consider is that the image from Tissot of the caseback is a render. So might not equate to how the caseback would look like in real life.
But if you do have concerns, I imagine you could contact Tissot with the information and they should be able to verify if that serial number is authentic.

I would guess yes, but if I would reach out to Tissot if it were me.

Thank you so much for your reply. Then, is a normal thing to find a watch with different serial number than the serial displayed on tissot website? Maybe was a stupid question, sorry.

Thank you for your help

Correct. The serial number is specific to each watch made.
There shouldn't be two watches of same model with same serial number.

Oddly, they're repping this watch.

I'd never buy one off of fleabay.

May be just me.
Just my $0.02 USD as always.

There are no reps of the 80-hour movements so you should be able to verify with that alone as the calibre-80's aren't sold outside of SWATCH-owned brands.

Thank you so much. Could you teach me to identify the movement?

You probably shouldn't need to, if you have a local watchmakers, they can inspect it for you.

I'm trying to look through the caseback. Any particular signal or serial to search? Sorry, I'm very rookie on this topic

No worries. This is how we all learn.

It looks like from this photo, you should be able to see C07111 under the balance wheel.

Or it could be just outside/underneath the balance wheel.
Use a magnifying glass or loupe if you have one.

You can do one of 2 things:
- make sure the movement runs for ~80 hours
- check the balance wheel as the 80-hour movements do not have visible regulators
