Sharkey Trident
[img][/img]
My green Trident is still in the mail but on a CW forum they have been discussing the watch and some nice photos have been posted.
The thread was a fun read with those for and against a homage of a watch they love. No one mentions that the CW Trident is a homage to a Bremont watch so they are fine with CW using some elses design for their watch, but not happy when they same thing is done to them.
The consensus seems to be the case is exactly the same as past CW Tridents, as CW changed case manufacturers and the Sharkey case comes from the old producer of the case.
The last post has a guy comparing as side by side with a CW but a different version.

Re: Sharkey Trident
That thread was wild. People HATE that thing. Its funny when you go into the Seiko forum on WUS, all the Seiko fanboys are all about the sharkeys. I don't have a horse in the race, just an observation on how differently both passionate fanbases treated the same subject.tjcdas wrote:[img][/img]

I also love how much the CW guys believe just how swiss their watches are. I will credit WUS and docvail on opening my eyes to that whole "swiss made" fallacy. At least the germans are close, and the US are TOO stringent.

Re: Sharkey Trident
Considering mine is costing me $128, I'm definitely feeling I'm getting a fantastic bargain. Don't tell those CW guys, but I'm liking the case back of the Sharkey better than the CW, based on those photos.tjcdas wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 7:16 pm Some more photos of the Sharkey Trident next to current CW.

Now, if my watch would quit celebrating Chinese New Year and get on the way here, that would be great

Re: Sharkey Trident
My Trident Shark is here. It is an excellent watch for the money, a bargain for what I paid for it.
I much prefer the shark logo over the current Christopher Ward logo

If you’re anal retentive, yes.tjcdas wrote:New CW logo wrecks every watch they sell, feng shui fail.

Re: Sharkey Trident
So one person likes the 9:00 Christopher Ward name placement!
Look at the owners discussing the new face design.

Re: Sharkey Trident
I’m saying an anal retentive person would call it a feng shui fail. I understand people having a preference on anything that occurs in the world. Saying the placement is disturbing somehow is not a normal opinion about a logo on a watch. Something about the person has an obsessive desire to place things in their environment the way they want it. Seems ridiculous to me, but I understand it, and honestly don’t really care. To each his own. I was just making an observation.tjcdas wrote: So one person likes the 9:00 Christopher Ward name placement!
