New Strap or Bracelet makes all the difference!!!

Post by CVP33 »

Had an afternoon to re-do some of my watches' bracelets and straps. I think they turned out better from where they started:

Seiko Diver, 38mm, SKX013K1, $150 from the CreationWatch sale. Didn't feel right on the rubber strap so I switched it to a generic, $11.99 jubilee bracelet. Now it looks like a mini-version of my SKX009K2

Next was my Helgray bomber. Beautiful case, great dial, love the red anodize internal bezel crown. But the strap just sucks. Not a fan at all of riveted straps or rough grain leather. Nothing a generic, brushed stainless, super engineer bracelet couldn't solve. The case has a "bracelet shroud" and tight lug holes that help hide the "straight" bracelet end link.

Next the Vostok Komandirskie K-35 Field watch. NATO strap is nice enough, but just doesn't give the watch any presence. Generic super engineer to the rescue again.

Finally and my favorite. The Zelos Great White #93/100. One helluva watch. 44mm of bronze goodness and that beautiful blue dial. Black waffle strap just doesn't do it justice. Enter another NERO custom, honey colored, 4mm thick, layered leather strap with a matching blue 'finish-stitch'. Add the 22mm Zelos custom bronze buckle and it's a winner in my book.

Wow, what a difference!  The Seiko looks much better on the bracelet.  Also especially like the way the Vostok pops with the bracelet.  The Zelos looks amazing, too.  Well done!

That Vostok looks right at home on the engineer bracelet.  Also, I'm glad we're seeing more brushed stainless steel bezels.  So much better than chrome plating.

I picked up this unusual Humism kinetic art watch from a semi recent Ebay deal. Humism is a Kickstarter/Indiegogo brand launch.

Came on a standard black leather, which though does match the moving dial, it doesn't really enhance it.

I had also picked up a grey carbon fibre style strap from a WatchGecko clearance sale that I thought would work for another watch, but didn't.

Added them together and voila!

Looks great on the new strap! The watch looks like a Borel **** watch from the 50's. What are the dimensions?

There are three different versions and they can be found on the company's Indiegogo page:

And here are the specs, but to me it might seem to wear a tad smaller as the eyes tend to focus on the spinning dials.

They do have one that looks a little closer to the Borel
