Short straps.

Post by NapoleonDynamite »

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Barton Elite Silicone strap. They are terrific quality, but also the fact it comes in a short length.

I've never liked NATOs or rubber/silicone straps because of the "left" over strap ones you've put it on.

I much prefer paratrooper or bracelets. However, these Barton straps are perfect, particularly for someone who has a skinny wrist. The total length of the Barton Elite Silicone straps is 7 inches (just under 18cm).

Most straps hover around 8 inches. Too long for my skinny wrists. Some you can cut, but that's not desirable.

My question is, can anyone recommend any straps (any material) that's 7 inches (or less) in total length and 22mm?

I'll be buying more of the Barton Elite Silicone's for sure.

Cheers!

Strapsco has some short straps, "vintage leather" that I just received. They measure 180 mm total. 22mm, too. For $25 they're OK.

Just my $0.02 USD as always.

Holben's has a selection of short watch straps. Great seller too.

I have skinny wrists and often will just have them made for me. Check places like Etsy, Martu Straps, or Finwatchstraps.com. B&R bands also has some straps in shorter length but you have to check each strap. Good luck with the hunt.

Edit to add: Ritchie silicone watch straps have the same setup as Barton. One long piece and one short piece. They're a little thicker and I actually like them better than Barton. They don't have as many color choices as Barton though.

+1 for Holben's ( their short straps are great for my wife, at 170mm) and for Andrea/Martu Leather.

Thanks for the tip on Finwatchstraps. :)

Cheapest NATO straps now offers short lengths (170cm) for some of their two-piece straps. Not the best quality leather, but what you would expect for the price. Here are the 22mm short straps: https://www.cheapestnatostraps.com/coll ... 2-mm-short

I know Uncle Seiko offers most of his straps in a short length which I prefer. I'll post a pic up soon with his strap vs. Stock Seiko. Very few options for short straps for diver watches due to being made to go over a wetsuit.

I have been very happy with both the quality of his straps and the customer service.

That little bit shorter really makes all the difference. Here is that comparison shot.

Great topic. Thanks for starting it.
Watchgecko.com has some shorter straps but they're often not obvious unless you dig into the details. I just bought one of these straight end milanese bracelets for my diver in 150mm length (brushed version).
Its a very good bracelet.

Completely fair call with regards to the purpose of long straps! Having said that I rarely get my divers wet at all! Haha.

Luff, from Singapore, has a drop down "wrist size" selector for some ( or all? ) of their straps. Gotta click on a strap's individual page to see it.

https://www.luffwatchstrap.com/collections/our-products

Not sure what actual lengths that translates to, or where they're making the determination as to what length to offer.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with these straps. It was a place briefly featured on a YouTuber's video.

User name baczajka from the other place had a bunch of these made. He's selling them for $12 USD or so shipping included.

22mm width tapering to 20mm at the buckle, short length 105mm X 73mm (not including the buckle).

Here is a link to his older for sale post: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f319/shor ... 78978.html

And his current eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/22mm-Short-TPU ... 3000718532

Price seems very fair compared to those other $40+ rubber straps which probably cost about the same to make as these ones here.

I have had a couple of Chris Ward short straps. They are great quality. If you can snag them on clearance the price is right, too.

Here's a pic -- the CW shorty is on the pepsi seiko on the right. The middle watch has a standard length lakehouse leathers horween for comparison.

I wish that watch were 38mm?
