ManOnTime Themed Strap - Let's Brainstorm!
ManOnTime Themed Strap? Share your ideas!
I have been approached by a strap business wanting to know if we would like a custom run of ManOnTime themed straps.
These would be nato-style straps, and limited to 2-3 colors; pretty standard issue for natos. What kind of pattern and/or colors would we like to have on a strap?
A couple of examples to get the ideas flowing:
If there is enough interest, I'll discuss more details with the representative, such as materials, hardware, etc.
I think this could be pretty cool, and we have a lot of creative people here. Let's see what kind of color schemes you can come up with.

Like stated, materials, format, hardware, and so on will be discussed. It will be a pass-through strap of some sort.

I'm totally into this. Any way to get MoT logo on the strap or buckle? Are we just talking colors?

That is something I'll discuss with them.

Re: ManOnTime Themed Strap - Let's Brainstorm!
Great idea Matt! So to get some ideas flowing, here’s a half-assed, late night stab at some MOT heraldry for a nylon, pass-thru strap:
Blue builds on TheJohnP’s idea as the primary color (hey everybody likes blue, right?).
Green signifies the MONEY we all hope to save through our deal-sleuthing ways.
Red near the ends signifies the sad fact that most of us end up “in the red” in this hobby…spending more to save more…however;
Black on the ends signifies the few members here (you know who you are) that actually end up making the hobby into a profitable endeavor (“in the black”).
Yellow/gold signifies friendship and sense of community, running along the edges of the strap, holding it all together.
And finally, the MOT logo is emblazoned on the strap, prominently in the wearer’s view just below the actual watch (outline).
OK then--standing by for slings & arrows.

how about a rubber strap typical of a Seiko diver but instead of the Seiko wave logo on the end do the MOT logo. This is probably more expensive than a nato in rubber but close to same price in silicon.

I really like John's pattern idea so far. Perfect site colors, and would go with a wide variety of watches.

Re: ManOnTime Themed Strap - Let's Brainstorm!
I like @TheJohnP colors, but I would prefer less white as it gets dingy so quickly.
Also, I know we aren’t there yet, but is a 2 piece nylon strap an option over a NATO? I know many members prefer 2 pieces over NATOS, but I also understand that might no be an option in this case.

Re: ManOnTime Themed Strap - Let's Brainstorm!
My suggestion would be anything that isn't readily available already elsewhere....either a unique colourway or hardware. Because, if you can find it elsewhere then....?
Some ideas...
A single pass nato/elastic in the John P colours with gunmetal hardware sounds smokin!! Don't think I've seen gunmetal hardware?
Perhaps light grey instead of the white? Something soft or twill? Colours offset instead of the traditional even down the middle spacing?
On a side note, I've also wondered if a combo material nato would ever be an option? - single pass nato nylon, but with 2 pieces connected with a 1inch? elastic part in the middle under the watch case back to allow for a bit of expansion/flex during the day...copyright/trademark SOBwanhoser Inc.
Basically the elastic part is hidden beneath the watch....not sure if the stitching to connect the middle elastic would be an issue??? It does create 2 additional areas for possible breakage but not sure how hard we actually stress our natos to worry about breaking them?
This would allow greater choice of nylon colours, as the all elastic natos/paratroopers tend to be limited in colour choice and hardware options.
And truly unique to MOT...
