As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

SUCCESSFUL : Kickstarter: Nardi Timepieces - HMS-C20 automatic dive watch

Post by TheJohnP »

This is the first campaign from Nardi Timepieces out of Portsmouth, UK.

Kickstarter price is £430 around $562

Estimated delivery is April 2020

Watch has elements that remind me of Isotope Watches (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=887), but otherwise looks like a good value for what they're asking for.

They also tell a pretty good story if you read their campaign fully.

Main takeaway from their description:

The Nardi HMS-C20 is an automatic Dive Watch, CNC'd (not cast) from HY-80 steel, that has been reclaimed from the Naval Type 22 Frigate; The HMS Cornwall.

For the most part, she'll be engineered, finished and assembled in England, only relying on oversea's parts in the instances where it has been impossible to source them locally and stay within budget, specifically; a Swiss Movement (Sellita SW200-1*) and some ancillaries (injection moulded hard plastics, some gaskets, and the Sapphire Crystals). We've even explored using English suppliers for the straps, but it turns out that the Italians (in our experience) are simply better at it.

Only 100 will be made to current specification and they'll only be available through Kickstarter.
