As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

What do we know about the Seiko Epson YN77A Automatic Movement?
Re: PREORDER: Kickstarter: Kingsbury Watch Co - Varsity Sport automatic
First I think I've run across a mention of that one.

Re: PREORDER: Kickstarter: Kingsbury Watch Co - Varsity Sport automatic
seems like a nice package for $165.
Make time to take time.
Re: PREORDER: Kickstarter: Kingsbury Watch Co - Varsity Sport automatic
For anyone on the fence, I backed one of their previous campaigns - the Dark Water - and was happy with the end result.
Excellent project management and communication throughout and, from memory, they chucked in some extra straps for free.
The watch itself is solid - some extremely minor quibbles but nothing of note, especially at these sort of prices - and looks a lot nicer than what I paid for it.
I'd back another Kingsbury project without hesitation.

Re: PREORDER: Kickstarter: Kingsbury Watch Co - Varsity Sport automatic
This one looks pretty nice, even from me.
Wish it had something to mark the 6 but for this price and specs, it's real nice.
As for the movement, pretty certain the Y-XXXX movement calibres are based off of Orient watches. Extremely difficult to find information on them but considering Seiko has no automatic movements with a small-second subdial and Orient does, this makes sense. They are not made by Time Module (SII) but Seiko-Epson themselves (a separate entity derived from Seiko).

Seems like a catalog watch with very nice custom dials.

If anyone is expecting non catalog parts in a >$200 automatic, they are being foolish.
The Kingsbury also splurged for a Sapphire crystal
