There is a very nice Tudor Sub homage coming out this Friday(today) for preorder. Zach(or Zachste over on WUS), the guy behind Cincy Strap Co. is releasing his first watch, the Nereus Santiago. He is a regular over in the BSH thread over on WUS and a generally cool guy. All the interactions I have had with him have been very positive.

This looks like a very faithful homage, and even has a kick ass roulette date wheel!

Pre-order pricing is $399 and includes one of his seat belt NATOs and a canvas strap along with the bracelet. Comes in black or blue dial, date or No date, and either 12 hour or traditional diver bezel. Oh, and look at those pillowy lume plots!

Even if you aren't going for the watch itself, Cincy Straps are really nice. I believe they were first or second to the aftermarket seatbelt strap game(Omega is the OG IIRC)

Preorder price is $399. Retail price will jump to $625, so get in while the getting is good!

There are also a couple hands on reviews of the prototypes out there, and they all seem very positive.

Specs:

 - 40mm x 48mm case

- 10mm thick mid case ≈ 12mm overall thickness

- engraved, screw down crown

- 316l stainless steel case, bezel, solid link oyster style bracelet with solid end links, tapering from 20mm to 18mm.

- 200m water resistance

- thickly applied BGW9 lume on hands and dial

- 120 click unidirectional bezel

- aluminum 12 hour GMT bezel insert or dive insert

- single dome sapphire crystal, with inner anti reflective coating

- solid stainless engraved flip lock diver’s clasp

- shipped in a custom, usable travel watch carrier/roll.

- Both date and no date dials will come with the reliable and accurate Miyota 9015 automatic movement. The 9015 hacks and hand winds, beating at 28,800 bpm and a 42 hour power reserve.

- In addition you Oyster style bracelet, includes 1 Canvas quick release strap and 1  Seat Belt Strap from Cincy Strap Co ($46 value)

- Comes backed by a 2 year limited warranty

No date, blue dial would be my choice. This looks pretty dang nice.

That was my original choice too, but the roulette date wheel got the best of me. I've also found that I love the symmetry of a no date dial, but also really like having the date feature.

With 18 days to go, I have my doubts that the Kickstarter campaign is going to fund.
Alas.

For those unaware, the preorder for the Nereus is still ON. The Kickstarter was canceled, but production was green lit and we’re getting close!

Order (finally) in! I rode that fence for over two months, but couldn’t miss the pre-order price. Smashing deal for a Miyota 9015, 200m diver - not to mention a wonderful tribute to some pretty $ source material.

Good luck wrapping up production, Zach!

Here’s the winner, err I mean the one I chose:

Render for the proper bezel. 🙂

And look at that puffy lume...
