The extreme crown guards make it look pretty crown-side heavy, but I still find the design to be interesting.
The green dial on the green strap looks really good!

Not my jam, but always good to see something a little different. Also looks like a pretty good value at the pre-order price.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

"The full steel Protégé timepiece pays tribute to one of the greatest designer in watch history of the 70s."
Am I just confused or is that a reference to Alain Dominique Perrin, Cartier’s Head of Marketing in the 70s? If so, he didn't really design the Santos , he just made it more in line with the Nautilus/Royal Oak trend of the time.
Anyway, it's a nice execution for lovers of that timepiece style.

Re: PREORDER: Brand Direct: Advisor Watches - Protégé Automatic
I thought of Gerald Genta first as well, but looking at the watch felt that the nod to Cartier Santos was more obvious than a nod to the PP Nautilus or AP Royal Oak in the Protege. However, you are likely correct and I am probably overthinking it .ManOnTime wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 7:36 pmI was thinking Genta.PeteB wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 2:51 pm "The full steel Protégé timepiece pays tribute to one of the greatest designer in watch history of the 70s."

The Advisor people probably wanted to showcase the "designer's style" not the actual design. And the Santos did add the bezel plate with screws in the 70s, as a direct result of Genta's other designs.
