Heads Up! I Saw A Bargain Here! 2019

Welp - can’t say I had better luck with my Oris. The classic date arrived today. Image
No plastic on crystal or caseback. Leather band had creasing and the hangtag looked a bit mangled so I’m guessing it was a demo of sorts. All in after tax to eBay and shipping $399. I’ll probably keep it. It’s a handsome watch and honestly I hate the hassle of returns.

I did not.

Now will see about the Ferrari ( unlikely since it might cost me my marriage).
It's easy to own a Ferrari if you understand the difference between "price" and "cost". You can drive a 430 or 458 for minimal cost, meaning that you can always sell it for close to what you paid and they are pretty reliable. The cost is actually lower than a new Mustang, Camaro, etc.

The same holds true for watches. Buy smart.
Service on watches is typically a bit less as a percentage than a Ferrari. Used Tesla roadster on the other hand...

Used P90D Ludicrous is the bargain IMO. Old hardware version is in the low $50k's. New hardware version is $70k. 0-60 in 2.6s.

I posted a potential group buy for Timex Archive models. Check it out and comment if interested.

Every time I get tempted by a watch like this, I remind myself that I would pick up my Speedy Pro 9 out of 10 times. I still need to sell a few more watches that are just sitting in my case not being worn. Got a couple shipped off this week.

So true...put it in my basket and went through the same mental journey... I have two Tag Heurs that I barely wear and a Speedy...its a bargain and fantastic value but just wouldn't get worn...why is it so damn hard to resist though???

If you're in Australia buying through amazon.com.au, you can buy it through their Amazon Global link. If you have Prime the delivery is free.

However, ShopBack has 12% cashback on watches sold at Amazon. After cashback this would cost approximately $295 AUD for a Samurai which is pretty phenomenal.

I can't see it.

Cheapest second hand 458 in my country is 140kEUR.
https://www.autoscout24.es/anuncios/fer ... ?cldtidx=1

I guess most people don't have them to pay for in cash. But, even if they have them, they will surely rent something if they are invested.

You have to rent a safe place to leave it and not have it stolen. It can't be a community garage. And an extra expense. Alarm with localizer. And another possible extra expense. Security for your home. If they see you with a Ferrari, they may think you're rich, and that they're going to steal from you... or worse.

You have to protect your investment. You must have full insurance coverage. A cheap insurance online costs me 4300EUR, about ten times what I pay for my car.

Municipal tax on motor vehicles. Yearly. +20 fiscal horses (a complex formula). 348EUR. My current car, 71EUR.

All this, without making a kilometre. Gasoline, about 1,5EUR/l. And they are very hungry horses. And, apart from that, maintenance, or a breakdown, can be very expensive. Also, a tyre set. And, in the example, it's a second-hand car that may have been used "for running", forcing the engine.
