That's even better. This could be the new MOT mascot watch.aldi wrote:FYI for international (non-US) buyers like myself, the Codek Spiral was marked down so I didn't get stung by any additional customs.
IIRC, it was declared at $10.
Echoing previous comments- this watch for <$200 is definitely a steal!

I'm patiently waiting for a Global Rakuten rebate day... has anyone noticed that these coordinate with Japanese national holidays? Sea Day is coming up July 15th. I'm hoping we get the 15-20% off, I've got someting all picked out!

Ordered the white with black cordovan strap ( it should go well with seiko dress watches )TheJohnP wrote:As many of you know, I've been watching and waffling on picking up a Codek Spiral since aldi first brought the brand to my attention.
Currently Codek has a discount code IKE, which will take off $375 the price. Making the cost of a Spiral start at $220.
I reached out to Chris at Codek to see if this might be the last of the discounts and he graciously offered an EXCLUSIVE discount just for us.
Use discount code MANONTIME and receive $420 OFF the price of a Spiral!
https://www.codekwatches.com/shop
The MANONTIME code will not be listed on the Codek site and this is the only place to find it.
For a Codek Spiral (in blue or white) with a veg tanned calf strap, sale price is $175 shipped
Regular price is $595
For a Codek Spiral (in blue or white) with a shell cordovan strap, sale price is $200 shipped.
Regular price is $620
Just a reminder of what you get with a Spiral:
And yes, I took advantage of this deal. You're off the hook yinzburgher!

I’m in the same boat. I actually had a chance to go hands on with these models at the Wind-Up Watch Fair in SF - The design didn’t appeal to me at all but the materials & finish were better than I expected. If you like the design, at this price you can’t afford NOT to buy it! [emoji857]konax wrote:This is not even a bargain, it's an absolute steal. I kinda want to jump on the deal (and probably eat instant ramen for the rest of the month) just because of the price/specs ratio, I don't even like the design that much.

Tissot Swissmatic auto (incorrectly labelled as quartz) for under 180 USD.
Swiss made, sapphire crystal, 70-80 hr power reserve...cant beat it for the price.
https://www.nordstromrack.com/shop/prod ... NO%20COLOR
Note: this is NOT the Powermatic 80 (2824) in here; it's a variant if the 19jewel Swatch Sistem51's movement (which isn't a bad thing IMHO).

Just from the people who specifically mentioned it, looks like we collectively bought at least 11 of the Codek Spirals today.
I know there was a couple on the fence and I'm sure some more who haven't spoken up.
Those kind of results should hopefully make Chris at Codek happy for providing us that special discount.

These are maybe worth $100. Watch companies racing to the bottom rarely works out.Impulse wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 5:42 pm Tissot Swissmatic auto (incorrectly labelled as quartz) for under 180 USD.

I fancy the MN look. The weave is interesting too as it is dual color. I have the midnight version.mplsabdullah wrote:What about the look do you prefer? The weave? Are both the Chevron and RSM straps worn like regular nato straps with the folds?quincas wrote:I can't quote any posts, funny enough. But this is with reference to compaing C&B straps and RSM straps.
I have both and while i largely prefer the look of the C&B chevrons, i must say that the RSM straps far, far surpass the Chevrons in terms of quality and comfort. They feel good right out of the box. Needs no breaking in. The chevrons are pretty stiff and have that annoying "T-shirt-tag-pricking-the-back-of-the-neck" feel on my wrist, if you know what i mean.
And, because they are slightly dressier, the RSMs fit more types of watches, be it tool watches, dress watches, military watches...
They are both single pass through and the best thing about both is that you don’t have to fold down any excess strap as there isn’t any. The length is adjustable via the buckle.
Oh 1 very important thing is forgot to mention is the C&B chevrons probably fit only up to 7.5”. I am 7.25” and unless i am doing it wrongly, there is not much extension left.
Not sure if you can see it here. The distance between the 2 keepers is how much length is left to extend and you will need to divide the length by approx 2 because it folds over, if you get what I mean. Here you can also see the weave and the color combos Stiffer than ‘em young ums
The RSMs hug your wrists well and is soft, smooth and supple. Monotone color but far more interesting weave pattern.

Amazon has the Casio PRG-240 in blue on the synth leather/nylon strap for $116.32 and it's not even Prime Day yet. This is as good as I've seen in a long time. Recently they were down to the $120's but never below that. These are normally around $150. Older V2 tech but still reliable. It has the duplex lcd and is solar powered but not atomic. The black version ion the resin strap is $149.99.
