I realised why they were so cheap: Oris just updated their full line of ProPilots with the applied solid superluminova markers; one retailer must've decided to just clear stock and replenish with the newer versions. The ones for sale had printed lume.
The applied markers in the new model are definitely cool and seem to float above the dial, but I don't like the fact that they significantly reduced the crown depth.

Warranty: 1 Year Limited Aftermarket

^^^ While I can't imagine purchasing a watch that expensive (unless I win the lottery) that warranty would give me pause.

Grovana Black Dial Moonphase Black Leather Men's Watch at Joma
True moon phase (?? conflicting reviews)
Sapphire crystal
Ronda caliber RHQ706 quartz movement
39mm x 8mm thick
Asst. finishes
retail $450 sale $139
EXTRA $40 OFF W/ CODE "GRV40" - TOTAL $99.99
This is a nice video of the watch. It certainly looks like a true moonphase to me.

I have the black one, it is definitely a true moonphase. However it looks very cheap in real life.
Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. Nice features but just a bit 'off'.

Some Marathon deals

Pilot's Navigator Tritium, Acrylic, 41mm no date: $139.95 normally $290, only black & sage colors available
Pilot's Navigator Tritium, Acrylic, 41mm with date: $169.95 normally $300, only tan & sage colors available

$140 for the no-date is very tempting, the sapphire versions just came out $300 no date, $320 with date.

Ebay guru $129 photo looks ok, looks great on the wrist, great wrist wrap with curved lugs.

LOL This is the watch that started me looking. Looking to fill in some gaps so it has to 'sing'
Joma has this A Lange & Sohne Saxonia Moon Phase on sale for $23,175 though (retail $30,900)

A Tissot PRS in a nice color combo. I have one and it is quite a nice casual watch with a bit of a stiffer strap.

299 USD - 5 USD = 294 USD with CART5 code

An auto Citizen at the lowest price I have seen with a price of 179,10 USD.

Another good thing in the somewhat tax free option as well, so this may be attractive to MOT members from all over the globe.

Here is one of the ultimate have-no-real-fear-of-damaging beater watches (for those instances when even your SKX may be too good to wear), the Seiko SNZF17J2 (MIJ version) for 137,70 USD (MIJ) or K version for even less.

As with the deal above, attractive for members from all countries.

While I agree with you in terms of aesthetics, I'm sure the feel of less crown against my hand will sway me.
Speculative, but they may have also done this to reduce the length of the stem tube; maybe they had some prevalent issues. Regardless, this will be the watch in my routine deal scoping now (in black).

NAD, but kind of interesting and eye catching. There is a new Glycine Sub model on Gonmon.

Price: $580 (free shipping + a free NATO). Not bad.

Oh my...that new blue dial Combat Sub is gorgeous. I’ll resist for now anticipating prices will fall over next months.

NAD

Last week I purchased the following Alpina from CWS, and after reading about an Oris bought from them which was received in poor condition and some speculation that they might be selling refurbished stock I thought I should share details of my transaction.

When I made the purchase a week ago the Alpina was listed at $550 on eBay with the Make Offer option. After a few offers trying to get the best price I could the lowest they would agree to was $540, which I found pretty silly having the option and taking time of offers going back and forth if they're only willing to give an additional discount of $10! In any case I really wanted this variation and the price was reasonable so I went ahead with the purchase. I was also able to use $70 of eBay Bucks I had earned so my net cost was just $470. Shortly after I made payment I saw that they raised the listed price to $599 which is where it stands now, still with the Make Offer option available.

I received the watch yesterday and can assure you that it's brand new and factory fresh, in flawless condition with all protective plastic on the watch case and bracelet. The detailed finishing of the coin edge bezel is also perfect, and that's an area where I've seen some imperfections on other samples of this series. Very pleased with this watch and wanted to confirm that this Alpina from CWS on eBay was perfect and not refurbished stock. :D

Here's a pretty realistic picture of this model which I grabbed off the internet, I can't take credit for it but just sharing for anyone interested.

Interesting approach to the date window. At the 4 o'clock but horizontal as if it were at the 3. That might not be unique, but it's the first time that I can recall seeing it.
