I am on the edge and need a push so, why should we choose this over Hamilton?

I'd get a Hamilton. I don't like "American Assembly" on the dial. Also, I suspect the Hamilton will hold its value better, in case you decide to flip it. But that's just like, my opinion, man.

Huckberry is having an end of year clearance that includes a page of watches. There are several Timex watches, including the original Q, the white dial Q, and the Falcon Eye for $116 each. Also two variants of the hand wind Marlin, with the black dial at $129 and the champagne (or is it silver) dial at $149.

There's a white dialed Vaer A5 automatic that looks just like a Khaki Field Mechanical for $292. And there is also a selection of Marathon and Luminox watches among others.

It looks like standard shipping is free for orders of $99 or more, or $4.99 for orders less than that.

If I'm not mistaken, the Hamilton Field watches are almost always either 38mm or 42mm (some models, both). The Vaer A5 is right in the middle at 40mm. So if that's your sweet spot...

I do think the dial and markers of my Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium (H70575733) is a little nicer than the A5, which I just got. But it's also one of the more expensive Khaki Field models (cost me almost twice as much), so still happy with the value of the A5 which I paid $333 shipped after tax. Not sure how the A5 compares to the other Khaki Field models.

It's just that the forum folks only seem to talk about the 38 and 42mm variants....the Hamilton catalog has quite the variety if you take a browse through.

Was poking around TOM and saw they have a bunch of Ingersoll autos for right around $100, not super familiar with the brand so I don't know how much a deal but it does look cheaper than Amazon. Have no idea what movement they're using though.

Ashford has a Nautica sale.

Nautica Park Gate is $39.99 ($35.99 after SC10PJANP).
The watch is good enough, but the value proposition is that it comes with a two-watch travel case, an extra red 22mm canvas strap and a passable strap tool.

I find the straps very comfy. Red one is pictured on a Calvin Klein (also $36 and possibly the nicest watch you can buy for that money).
