I'd like to try out the Timex MK1 Mechanical to see if I like it enough to replace one of my two Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanicals. Please tag me in if you see a particularly attractive deal on it. I'm not in a hurry. Thanks!
Me too, please! Really want to pick this up on the cheap.

It's bound to be a lesser build quality than the Hammy? Why swap?

Good question! I have two HKFMs. I find that I don't wear the black dial one after I got the white dial. One thing that always bugged me on them is the lug length/hole placement, which doesn't lend itself well to 2-piece straps. I guess I'm curious whether the MK1 addresses this. There's also the lack of AR coating on the Hamiltons, which I'm guessing won't be any better on the Timex.

Thanks! flypanam I'm going to keep an eye on it. There is definitely a price point (~$120) where I probably won't be willing to sacrifice one my Hamiltons to satiate my curiosity about the MK1 Mechanical. If this auction goes beyond that, I'd probably just get the quartz.
Stretch44 Feel free to bid as you see fit. I won't compete with you.
These models tend to get overlooked but for the price it's very nice considering it has a SW300. Although they are a bit easier to come by from what I've seen on Rakuten and yahoo auctions. Not sure what the best price on that specific model was though.
Those have gotten down to around the $400ish range depending on the specific model.

I may have talked myself out of the MK1 mechanical.
Not impressed by the giant plastic movement spacer?

Actually...yes!
It reminds me of my craptastic mechanical field watch entry that I nearly smashed to bits.
Well in case either you or Stretch44 are still interested, the auction's at $131 and ends in 25 minutes!
Edit - my ebay app notified me again in the final minute of the action and it looks like someone snagged it with a snipe bid with seconds to spare. Wonder if it was anyone from here

I know it's not the same, but if you apply enough codes (I started with WATCHES10 and YOUGET20 -- they stack; see link below for discussion of additional one-off codes) maybe the price will make up for it (SRPC91). The bezel and crown appear to be black, anyhow, lol: https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-34408 ... srpc91.jsp
Hmm, yeeesss...a little Testor's black, nobody'd ever know the difference! But it could be the lower-hassle option to COVIDy international holiday-season adventures. Actually, in the process of mulling it over, YOUGET20 seems to have been replaced with FAMILYSAVE for 25% off. Jinkies!
EDIT: Poop, the 30% and 40% codes stopped working too.
I have a basically brand new one for sale in the bazaar if you are interested. If so, bet we could work out a deal.
Hrm. I admit I'm still wavering a bit between springing for the PVD version I'd prefer, and going with the cheaper alternative. Right now I'm seeing $267 from Kohl's with what codes I have working ($283 with tax, free shipping), which doesn't seem too bad for an AD with a pretty long return period thanks to holidays and plagues. But then, that blue really pops against the darker SRPD11 case...
