Re: Which movement is this?
Stumper for sure.
I know I have seen that movement though. Looks similar to those I've seen in Westclox and similar marques.
I searched all the usual 1-jewel suspects and I have found nothing.

Re: Which movement is this?
Not a help, but at first I thought MOT was saying that he was sure the brand of the movement was "Stumper."
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Re: Which movement is this?
Looks like it could be a modified (or unreported) Eppler movement.
Here's a link to an Eppler 16, which looks VERY similar. Especially the two sections I circled.

Re: Which movement is this?
Pretty sure this is a different watch as the one trying to be opened has a lot of brass showing.TheJohnP wrote:Hold on.watchpalooza wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:29 am There are no marks and this does not look like any I have seen.... anyone recognize this?

Nope, different watch. This one may be for the field watch challenge.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 10:37 amHold on.watchpalooza wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:29 am There are no marks and this does not look like any I have seen.... anyone recognize this?

Should I be concerned that you already have a candidate in hand? Probably just getting in my own head here. Plenty of deals out there to be had.

Re: Which movement is this?
Here's another site with a different Eppler movement that looks closer to the one you have.

Re: Which movement is this?
It looks like John is right - it appears to be an older Eppler movement, which were notoriously not labeled in any way. This one is a pin pallet with a mobile stud carrier and center sweep seconds hand...so it appears most like an Eppler 18. The unfinished brass plates and use of a metal seconds gear indicates its an older one, since according to 17Jewels they switched to chrome and plastic in the later years of production.
