As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Watch repair/restoration/mod videos

Post by AndyS »

As background noise over the last few months, I've started watching a lot of youtube car rebuild video channels. Kind of my version of my wife's never ending HGTV/DIY watching.

Recently, I've found watch restoration/repair/and mod videos are even chiller than the car videos. Plus, I can learn more about another hobby I like.

If you have good vids, feel free to post them here.

Here are a couple:

Last week I was watched a similar video of a watchmaker restoring a "Vostok Komandirskie U-Boat - Russian Cal. 2414." He has other videos too. I watched part of the Breitling one but all of this one. Not my normal Youtube fare but I couldn't believe how satisfying it was to watch someone use their skill to return this thing to the way it was meant to be.

Owning a few Eco-Drives, this one was interesting to me as I've not ever opened one up. He even admits this one wasn't worth the effort, but it was cool to see the damage restored.
