I’m not super excited to be banging around all these tools and things with this watch, especially on the bracelet. It will be interesting to see how beat up this thing is by the end of the challenge. I believe the rules allow you to go watchless, if you want. I restricted myself even further with the 24-hour watch-on rule, but that was just me. (Awesome watch, btw.)

In any case I'm grateful for Sporkboy's idea of wearing it on the inside of your wrist for extra protection -- I might do that, myself, when necessary.

Attempting to capture challenge moments, myself, this is what a chin-up wristshot would look like if I could do both at the same time:

Count me in as well, sort of. I’ve been wearing the C65 everyday since I got it and while I don’t think I can make it to the end of August I am willing to make it a full month by wearing it until the 15th.

Since I’m two weeks in already, I can share some early insights. First, I’ve come to really appreciate the dimensions of this watch, particularly the height and how comfortably it wears. I’ll definitely be putting more consideration into that when making future purchases. Second, it turns out wearing the same watch every day isn’t so bad. I’ll never be a one watch guy but I’ve been thinking about downsizing so that I can go grail hunting and this experience is reinforcing those thoughts.

And lastly, since I just finished up another challenge (dry July), I decided some whiskey would be an appropriate background for my first challenge wrist shot.

Good luck gents! You are each off to a great start. I will be sure to pour one out for each of you, or have a couple as the case may be, along the way.

I was tempted by this idea but who am I kidding...I have worn three watches already today. Took some EcoDrives outside for some sun and was reminded what a great everyday watch they are. The watch that started all of this for me is an EcoDrive that I wore daily for three years and I admired each little scratch and bump on the case and thought about all of the places that it accompanied me as my only watch.

cortman I put my Combat 6 on the Fostner bracelet earlier today and it is back on my good side  . The way the hands sometimes vanish is my only beef. I will be looking forward to your observations.

Good call BC. Unless you really want to go super hardcore, there is nothing against not wearing a watch, so taking it off during rough activities is fine. Granted, I think the watch in question can take it, it is just how tolerant on is to scratches and dings.

Somehow a whole month with one watch seems a bit overwhelming and very real. Maybe I am a bit tense for other reasons. I am glad We are trying this as a group.

Anyway, here it goes.
You might be able wear a different strap every day with this watch, it is a strap monster!

I have tried the SNK793 on a number of straps, but never fell in love with a look. That may be due to the lack of options I have as they are geared towards field watches. I have taken advantage of the targeted Barton BOGO sale and have a couple of straps incoming.

It is day 2 and I have already measured the crystal to see if I might have a double domed replacement, and it looks like I do. I also placed the order with Barton for new straps to use on the watch. I will swap onto something other than the bracelet this afternoon.

Day 3 and I am feeling a little better about this. I have the watch on a croc pattern black leather strap and it is looking pretty sharp. Found a plain black strap in my strap stash that should work. Tried out a blue NATO and it was good, but feels a bit odd with this watch somehow. Keeping busy cleaning up a few watches in my newly uncovered ultrasonic cleaner.

Working at the rental with my Pulsar instead of my usual MRW-200H Casio. Just noticed that the crown is making a red spot on my hand. I wonder if my hand will just get used to it or if I should switch wrists.

This putty knife is probably my favorite hand tool. I’ve been using it so long that it has a very sharp edge. (Sorry for the poor quality mirror-shot.)

Safari was funny so I am late with yesterday’s check in pic. Finally caught a bit of that sunburst dial.

Hanging out with my man Moose (aka, the Ombre Hombre) to start Day 4 of the challenge. So far things are going pretty good... well, I’m still compliant anyway.
