As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

April 2019 HUISABH! Thread Stats

Post by MoT »

The Five Day Old But Still FreshI blame the preservativesEdition

You know 'em, you love 'em (I hope!) and here they are. A little bit late, but just as tasty.

Total deals were down a bit this month. 398 vs. 491 in March. This decline is nearly identical to the decline over the same time period in 2018. That being said, the average savings over retail grew a meager 0.77% from March to a pretty strong 60.75% overall.

The Sultan of SoWhat again takes the crown with 84 deals, however TheJohnP was nipping at his heals with 81. Will these two duke it out for top deal dog in May?

Off to the numbers!

(As always, if there is a particular brand, site or other piece of data you'd like, let me know and I can provide it.)

Let's remember a few things first:
 • I based these calculations on new and refurbished watches only.
 • I do not include watch accessories or used watches.
 • I only included deals with links.
 • The retail price used was either the retail price listed on the selling website, or found on the manufacturer's site.
 • Currency, if not in USD was converted to USD using Google's currency exchange calculator on the date the deal was posted.
 • "Largest" and "Smallest" deal is based solely on the percentage savings from listed retail. I do not make subjective determinations on the brands perceived value. That is up to you, the reader.

Maybe you could fit the data to say a lognormal distribution and then make predictions on future deals.

Thank you, my fellow Pogo lover.

I really didn't think I'd hold the crown for two months straight. It seemed to me that the deals were harder to find, and the lower number of them in the month seems to bear me out.

I still marvel at some of the places Yinz finds to point us to.
