2020 Monthly Watch Challenge

Post by Sussa »

Inspired by the LWDS compliance guidelines but lacking the wherewithal to keep track of compliance on a daily basis, I started thinking about a monthly challenge for myself in 2020. The goal is to remind myself what's special about every watch in my collection and to give wrist time to some of the lesser-worns. Here's what I'm thinking:

January - New year's resolutions are about personal improvement, so January will focus on watch improvement: Mods only
February - Smallest companies for the smallest month: Microbrands
March - In like a lion, out like a lamb: Top 3 each largest and smallest case sizes
April - April showers bring May flowers: Water resistance equal to or greater than 100m
May - In honor of the greatest spectacle in racing, only watches with a secondary timing function (chrono or rotating bezel)
June - More sunshine, less darkness: no lume
July - 'Merica: Only red, white, or blue dials
August - My birthday month: Top 5 favorites, to be determined at the start of the month
September - For Labor Day: Beaters
October - Going with a jack-o-lantern theme: Only dials with cutouts (date windows or sandwich)
November - Black Friday: Top 5 best deals over the years
December - Less sunshine, more darkness: Top 5 best lume

Obviously this is heavy on US holidays and northern hemisphere seasons. Any suggestions? What would your monthly challenge look like?

I'd suggest perhaps orange dial watches for October.
And red or green dial watches for December.

Great idea, fun articulation. Continuing with the color theme, add to April spring bloom bright colorful watches.

That would give me an excuse to buy the SRP853 I've been eyeing for awhile.
