Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
Got this from Formex today.... I thought it might be the (sorta) announced 39mm Essence, but the pic suggests otherwise....

Definitely looks like an essence chapter ring so I'm 99.9% sure it's the 39mm model they said would come in December.pdsf wrote:Got this from Formex today.... I thought it might be the (sorta) announced 39mm Essence, but the pic suggests otherwise....
I just hope it looks bad so I don't have to buy one

I do not know. The brand's known as a bit of a homage factory but I think there are enough selling points here to recover most of the cost.EA-Sports wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:58 amI got the same email too..may be worth a try..how hard is it to sell one if I end up not liking it?chubbledouble wrote:New watch from Heimdallr. Also, maybe follow the BSH thread over on WUS around January. Might solve the logo issues[emoji6]. Keep your eyes open for the "sea ghost".EA-Sports wrote:I got the same email too..may be worth a try..how hard is it to sell one if I end up not liking it?chubbledouble wrote:New watch from Heimdallr. And this is not meant to steal thunder from the great MoT community. I think most here would know that is NOT my intention, but if there is any issue, just lemme know mods.
If anything, it makes me want to move forward with the LWDS/MoT watch!

What would it take for BSH to have a "clubhouse" (thread(s)) here?

"Marmont"
I'll never understand why Timex has to attach names to their classic designs that were never part of the design originally.
I have one of the originals, in stainless. I wish Timex would have used Seiko's VK series to replicate the 4-tick per-second motion of the original quartz balance wheel movements.

Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
lol who knew we needed this but here's the new John Mayer-designed G Shock (ref. DW6900JM20-8). It is -- you'll never guess -- a collab with Hodinkee, and already sold out at $180.

I wish that watch were 38mm?

Re: 2020 New and Upcoming Releases!
The return of the King.
By 1960, Seiko had two competing divisions that tried to raise the level of the firm to the highest Swiss qualities.
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1459
Suwa Seikosha who created the first Grand Seiko in 1960 Daini Seikosha instead built the King Seiko in 1961. This would be the original KSK model of 1965, perhaps the most representative for aesthetics.
Eventually, both divisions began producing both lines GS and KS, until the quartz crisis came, which ended both. A little over 20 years ago, Seiko decided to revive the GS automatics, but the name KS did not come back... until today, when it has presented a reissue limited to 3000 pieces identical to that KSK, the SJE083.
Unlike its GS brothers, and some of its ancestors who became chronometer-certified, the new KS will not have the obsession for an ultra-precise caliber. The 6L35, which we have seen in some Presage "baby Snowflake", and which is the identical twin brother of the Soprod A10, declares some modest (-10, +15), although I assume that it will be better tuned.
But it will have GS finishes. The spectacular 38mm box would have many facets with "zaratsu" finishes polished to a mirror shine, and an anti-scratch treatment. The domed sapphire with internal AR resembling a plexy gives it more vintage air.
In the sphere we also see applied indexes that are almost sculpted, like the amazing 12 o'clock index.
The back will have the gold medallion with shield of the original model.
To complete the finish, we have an impressive alligator strap with the new buckle, just as it was...
The crown would be signed.
The presentation will be simple, in a sixties-type case, without excesses. In a model with a vintage air, this coherence is appreciated.
The only downside... the price. Around 3500EUR. And I think that they will be sold out soon and that there will be speculation.
Model page, specifications and so on.
