As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I think case diameter: 42mm (vs 43mm) and lug width: 20mm (vs 21mm) would have made a lot of people happier.

Also make them happier if it didn't have an MSRP of Euro 2,480 with strap or Euro 3,060 with metal bracelet.

Yet again, completely original designs by Steinhart. I'm continually impressed by their dedication to the craft.
I know people fall on both sides of the fence when it comes to "homages." In this case, fans have been asking for a Tudor Sub reissue for quite some time and Tudor refuses to deliver so I have less of a problem with this "homage."
There is another Tudor Sub homage coming out this Friday for preorder. Zach(or Zachste over on WUS), the guy behind Cincy Strap Co. is releasing his first watch, the Nereus Santiago. He is a regular over in the BSH thread over on WUS and a generally cool guy. All the interactions I have had with him have been very positive.

This looks like a very faithful homage, and even has a kick ass roulette date wheel!

Pre-order pricing is $399 and includes one of his seat belt NATOs and a canvas strap along with the bracelet. Comes in black or blue dial, date or No date, and either 12 hour or traditional diver bezel. Oh, and look at those pillowy lume plots!

Specs:

 - 40mm x 48mm case

- 10mm thick mid case ≈ 12mm overall thickness

- engraved, screw down crown

- 316l stainless steel case, bezel, solid link oyster style bracelet with solid end links, tapering from 20mm to 18mm.

- 200m water resistance

- thickly applied BGW9 lume on hands and dial

- 120 click unidirectional bezel

- aluminum 12 hour GMT bezel insert or dive insert

- single dome sapphire crystal, with inner anti reflective coating

- solid stainless engraved flip lock diver’s clasp

- shipped in a custom, usable travel watch carrier/roll.

- Both date and no date dials will come with the reliable and accurate Miyota 9015 automatic movement. The 9015 hacks and hand winds, beating at 28,800 bpm and a 42 hour power reserve.

- In addition you Ouster style bracelet, includes 1 Canvas quick release strap and 1  Seat Belt Strap from Cincy Strap Co ($46 value)

- Comes backed by a 2 year limited warranty

These three new waffle dial Seiko Prospex Sumo models can be found listed on a few retail sites already. I'm not sure why they are not yet on any Seiko websites (that I know of). Maybe later this week. I'll try to remember to update if I see alternative reference numbers for these. Specs are the same as other new Sumos......45mm with the 6R35 automatic movement and ISO 6425 certification. The WatchPro article below is calling them Seiko Prospex "Built for the Ice Diver" watches. It appears the full retail price will be $900. Pics from Carat & Co.

For me it is really exciting to see Croton revival. I always admired Crotons from mid 1900.
Apperently Croton was originally named Nivada Gretchen in Europe.
From WornAndWound:

https://wornandwound.com/review/review- ... sea-diver/

"The Chronomaster watches in their remastered, automatic form are priced from $1,965 on leather to $2,172 on steel bracelets (oyster or beads of rice style). They can also be had with manual winding movements, and priced from $1,760 to $1,968 respectively. It’s worth noting that in manual spec, you save yourself 1.1mm in thickness over the automatic variant, which should provide a noticeable and welcome difference on the wrist, not to mention get rid of the wobble. There are a variety of dial variations available and we’d recommend browsing the entire collection to find one that suits your tastes before purchasing. "

I like the date color matched date wheel and date position on the Omega, but I prefer the dial of the Mido.

Find a watch that combines them and it would be next to impossible for me to resist.

I agree. It's times like this when I wish I had the talent, contacts, and capital to start my own watch brand.

How much extra would it cost to have at least black date wheel in addition to white, to match dial color?
