As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

The last three, SPB15xxxx are my pick of the lot, classier Alpinist look.

I'm actually quite a fan. I think 2020 can do without a compass module that just incorporates more unnecessary moving pieces.

That being said, I wish they used different hands.

Looks like a Alpinist + sarb033/35 mashup
Good looking watch but just feels wrong to me

Just looks like a generic field watch... Except with a really undesirable hour hand. (Imo)

I guess all of those Seiko Prospex models being announced all at one time was a mistake. They are no longer on the Seiko website and Plus 9 Time has removed them as well, citing a press embargo. It seems a little late to try to put the toothpaste back into the tube but Seiko is gonna try apparently. So only 4 of the blue Prospex divers are actually still up on the site. See the announcement of the 4 watches HERE. So the only remaining semi-affordable one is the SPB149J1. SBDC107 is the alternative reference.

SEIKO PROSPEX SPB149

Specs - See the link for more
Thickness: 13.2 ㎜
Diameter: 40.5 ㎜
Length: 47.6 ㎜
Thickness: 13.2 ㎜
Crystal: Domed sapphire
Water resistance: 200m w/screw-down crown
Movement: 6R35
Limited to 5,500 pieces
Price: JP¥140,000

I think people will mostly appreciate having the option for a Seiko diver at this size. Below are the other two variants that are no longer up. I'd love to see some real world pics of these.

Edit to add another one that I really like and I think will be popular. SRPE37K1 King Samurai. There will be no shortage of complaints regarding the cyclops but Seiko still won't have any trouble selling these.

Maybe the plan was to release the limited edition first, then when those orders come in, they announce a non-limited variant to make people cry.

As per successful Seiko model, likelihood of having multiple variants in the next year+ is also likely. PADI variants are essentially guaranteed.

Also below is a pic of it on Djokovic's wrist. Looks very nice.

Thanks! I've never shopped on RGM, and never used a forwarder. The RGX fee calculator estimated $13, which seems reasonable to send something to the other side of the world.
Ordered one - let’s see what shipping comes out to be. Also seems like these are pre-orders at this point.

One store said it was expected to ship at the end of March. I suspect I'll forget I ordered this and be pleasantly surprised when a watch shows up sometime in April
No surprise watches for me. My order was canceled yesterday with no reason given and it doesn't seem to be available anywhere else. Guess I'll have to wait out the inevitable second hand market markup.

I just came across these. I don't know much about them but I believe they were released only in Italy, in January 2020. They are available on Chrono24. Using Google Translate:

LIMITED EDITION SPECIAL EDITION
CRYSTRON PROTOTYPE: THE FIRST IN THE WORLD.
In 1974 Citizen changed the history of watchmaking forever by presenting the Crystron Prototype, the prototype of a solar powered watch that started the development of clean and renewable energy technologies. Citizen reserves to the Italian market a limited edition SPECIAL EDITION (750 pieces) of the 1974 Crystron Prototype which was never marketed

FEATURES
Steel case, Milan mesh bracelet. High thickness mineral glass. Dial with solar cells in radial arrangement (as in the original prototype) in view. Equipped with the latest generation Eco Charge winding movement. WR 5 bar. Case diameter 38 mm.

There are 3 variants:

The black PVD version comes set on an all black deluxe NATO strap. To accommodate other strap options, there are two sets of lug pin holes so you will have a seamless look no matter your style.
