The Junghans Meistrer MEGA.
Now my second radio controlled watch, albeit much nicer than my Leap Year Challenge one.

Twice in a week?
Whaaaaa?!?!

Anyway, one of the rare times that I take advantage of my own deal.
Had to see that natural anthracite dial on the Tissot in real life.
I really dig it. Especially how it changes depending on the angle of the lighting.

But still have time if I decide to send it back to Jomashop.

Got home and showed the Tissot to my wife.
She fell in love with the dial and was highly impressed by the deal.
When I told her I still wasn't sure if I was keeping it, she lovingly told me: "if you return it, I'll punch you in the face."
Guess I'm keeping this one!

Two new to me watches, though I wish they were acquired under happier circumstances. My grandmother passed away recently and I found these two pieces in her jewelry box. Based on the size of the expanding bracelet and an old photo, the 38mm Timex was worn by my grandfather in the 1990s. The bezel reminds me of a Royal Oak, and being a Timex that couldn't be more appropriate. My grandparents were people who never had much, but enjoyed every bit of what they did have. A new battery is on the way.

Then there's this Elgin pocket watch. I can't get more information on it without taking the movement out, which I'm afraid to do with my limited skill. The hands look very delicate. There might have been an engraving on the back, long worn away. The back is also slightly dented. Once quarantines and social distancing are a thing of the past, I'll take it to a watchmaker for a revival.

If anyone has more information on either, I'd love to hear it.

A post of the caseback of the Timex will get us to the month and year of production. Specifically, there is a 2 digit Letter/Number code that reveals this info. Since it has a dedicated indiglo pusher, it is going to be relatively early in the implementation there AFAIK.

Based on this chart: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Budget_Wa ... date_codes it looks like the Timex was made in July 1994. Am I reading it correctly?

That is correct. Actually, the Timex Ironman I won on eBay is B8, so only a month later.

Agreed that the Junghans nude strap is the most 'blah' color possible and does nothing for their beautiful watches. How about a strap with a more saturated yellow/tan color? Like these from Martu Straps:

Slim Vintage Mustard strap:

Or for something bolder, the Hand dyed Vintage Yellow (may be too thick though):

OK, I got my $9 NASA approved space watch and it needs a little cleanup, but is in great shape. A fresh battery and it is running fine.

It lets you customize the time zone labels so you instead of TZ1, you could put EST. Also, if you set TZ2 to KEY the. One day a week you can push a button to have it say MONKEY. If that doesn’t win you over, nothing will.
What other fun words can I spell out?

Silver lining to working remotely... when the mail is delivered I can get my packages right away. No waiting until I get home from the office. Loving the colors of this Timex. I thought it was an orange dial, but it's actually an orange crystal! Thanks HUISABH and TheJohnP. This is a Nordstrom Rack special.

Just received my nearly new Christopher Ward C65 GMT. Didn't get in on the AUD trick but I'm ok with my deal anyway.

This is my first Chr Ward and I'm really surprised at the quality. I haven't gotten around to resizing the bracelet yet (not my favourite thing in the world), but I really like the quick release bracelet. Chucked it on a navy Chromexcel strap from the B-grade WatchGecko sale and I'm pretty happy with it now too. Image
