As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

These guys arrived today, along with a diver. My family gave me a lot of crap about owning so many of the "same" watch, but I really like these things (esp. for the price). I talk about them a little in the Electric thread here.

So the Lunar Pilot came with a free, very fragrant, Rubaiyat candle. I think I'm going to burn it, clean out the vessel, and use it as a whiskey glass. :D

Never got a candle with a watch, nor ever hear of it. Rubaiyat is a Bulova line of ladies watch. Someone must thrown it in there by mistake. Cool shot glass though, assuming it's the right size.

It was listed as a freebie with some Bulova's on the recent Kohl's 40% sale.

It would be a BIG shot! It's 3.5" tall, 3" diameter at the top and 2.5" at the base.

The packaging that the Bering watch my wife gave me for our anniversary, was designed to be a candleholder if you want.

How about a bunch of old watch/pocket watches. These were my grandpa's. He passed five and a half years ago, but my dad gave them to me today. I'm pretty excited. I know nothing about pocket watches but there were notes with dates for a few.

Sorry about your grandfather, but having something to remember him by is nice. I have my grandmother’s rolling pin that I use for sugar cookies and pie crusts.

It looks like you have a couple mechanical field watch candidates there, which is good timing as they are eligible for the $35 field watch challenge.

I am really digging the Hamilton. What is up with the bag of bullets? Do I want to know?

Whoops, didn't mean for that to get in there. ManOnTime, if you'd like to remove that pic please do so. I didn't realize those were there. Sporkboy, they're my dad's, he's a SASS member and loads his own. That's actually something we're doing today.

The Hamilton is for sure one of my favs. They all work and I definitely thought of one of these for the challenge.

I ordered a Timex Expedition Katmai TW4B16700 from eBay a while back and had it delivered to a different address so I haven't seen it yet. Then I found another one from Amazon Warehouse for half the price and that one just got to me the other day. I don't necessarily recommend dollar cost averaging of Timex watches but I'm not opposed to it for my own purposes. For $21 I'm pretty happy with this one. I think the all black looks good and I like having an ana-digi back in my collection. It has all the functionality I'll need. It's a loud ticker but that's ok. I imagine the crystal will scratch easily. The strap is decent. Indiglo is always a plus. I really like the bezel. Very loud and clicky. I wish it was rated to 100m WR....that's probably my biggest complaint. I don't think it will last as long as some of my cheap Casios but I think I'll be pleased overall.

Just in from our friends at @riveredgejewelers. Wanted something funky for my collection. Love the orange accents and the green strap is super comfortable. Image
