It surprised me when Orient stopped production of their Flight watch. Pretty much every major brand has an aviation watch. And there was clearly demand, as the few used examples you would see on ebay got snapped up immediately for more than they used to sell for when new. Well now it's back, although it's unclear whether it will be sold outside of Japan.

I’m anxiously awaiting this also. I will own this as soon as it’s available. I love my combat sub. The only negative is no drilled lugs.

I would never get a watch that nags but if you like it, here is the Timex by Wood Wood 'GET LOST' Waterbury which will nag you each time you turn on the indiglo. It will be released in 2 days for €96

The description says it all :D

"Timex by Wood Wood 'GET LOST' Waterbury, a timepiece inspired by the notion of exploration and utility cast out of a subdued all-black bead-blasted steel case encasing a black dial with stripped back typeface numbering. INDIGLO® alongside the luminant hands is further utilised to activate the device's hidden message that cases "GET LOST" signalling the idea of disconnecting and getting lost in the frame of mind and nature.

Measurements
Case: 38 mm
Strap width: 18 mm"

link to watch is here https://www.woodwood.com/commodity/8792 ... -waterbury

For some reason I feel like this is a downgrade from the previous ocean stars. It just doesn't look as well built/crafted with that bracelet and dial. I'm assuming this is because they have the new COSC models and are maybe trying to push it slightly up market.

I'm not sure I can offer much of a take on that considering I don't have any real experience with any Ocean Stars. But I often find that when a company wants make a retro or vintage-inspired diver, they often go with painted rather than applied indices and it can have a look of lesser quality.

Yeah that might be it. But I think what's throwing me off is the case polishing. It appears to be just completely polished versus the really nice polished bevels on the older ones. Still looks good but I'll stick with my 2017. Hopefully we also see the older ones go down in price

The watch you see below was announced just over a month ago but I never got around to posting it here and I don't believe anyone else did either. I like the dial and love a big date complication. The movement, using the Powermatic 80 or ETA C07.111 as it's base, is similar to that of the Mido Big Date watches introduced in 2018, except this one uses a Nivachron (titanium-based alloy) balance spring to resist magnetism.
