As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Well this was not what I imagined. :? Seiko has released two new limited edition automatic chronographs to commemorate the milestones of 50 years since its first wrist-worn chronograph, which coincided with the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and 55 years since its first automatic chronograph, the caliber 6139.

I love the look of the 29. But yeesh. And I thought 6138-8020s were getting overpriced.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Two new limited edition models added to the Fossil Archival Series, the Starmaster, a reissue of a 90's model.
These 37mm steel watches have an electro-luminescent dial that is lit up with a press of a pusher just above its crown. They both come on a brown leather strap and feature a quartz movement.

So somewhere way upthread we talked about the Model Two, a compressor style watch from the British startup Alkin. Remembered today I hadn't heard anything about it, even though I thought I signed up for his newsletter. Anyway, here are pics from his facebook. Didn't dig to find out when these will be available or at what price, but I like the looks:

Hamilton is introducing a huge retro automatic chronograph called the Chrono-Matic 50 to pay tribute to one of it's early auto chronos, the Chrono-Matic E. This new and limited Hammy lacks the GMT complication of its predecessor but largely replicates the look and design otherwise.
