As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I had a gilt/sapphire and blue sunburst w/ bezel and they were awesome. I just wanted something else. The fit/finish was not really above the price point, but the styling and dimensions were awesome. Very well-designed watches.
I'm eager to see the two new models. Both sub-40mm. One tool and one field watch I believe.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Boourns wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 12:32 pm Well after agonizing for an uncharacteristically (for me) long time, I ordered a Horizon GMT in cobalt blue. This means I will have to sell my Squale 50 Atmos, which is one of the first watches I really lusted for after getting into the hobby. (Coming to a Bazaar post near you). What tipped the balance for me was (1) it should be relatively easy to find another matte blue 1521 if I really want one and the Zelos may be harder to find, and (2) I've never owned a GMT before and this seems like a good price for an ETA GMT. So there's my way-too-long personal story for the week.
If Zelos watches are as good as people say on forums, I don't think you'll regret this one. I think the blue GMT looks great and the pre-order price is tough to beat.

Agree with all of this. The owner really has a good eye for design. The watch is otherwise fairly priced for what you get. He could probably raise prices if he wanted to based on demand but the quality would get out of line with expectations for the price. It would be easy to get greedy but I think overall he's been smart to keep the prices relatively low.

Starting price is $650 for slate, green, or blue dials. $750 for grey meteorite.

Edit: Initial announcement from Instagram, with pics:

It wouldn't be Zelos without a bronze version. Pic nabbed from another site. Apparently this had been posted on the Zelos Facebook page.

At first glance, I'm really liking the design of this watch. And then I notice the fatal flaw for me:

I don't really want a date complication. But then to label the date? The minimalist in me gets annoyed when I see email labeled as "Email:" before an email address, as who doesn't know an email address when they see it? As for this watch, who wants that date label even if they like having a date complication?

I like this one overall. I agree that labeling the date is a little weird but it doesn't bother me too much. What probably would bother me though is that crown digging in to my hand/wrist.

Agree, overall looks nice...but is that a circ saw blade or dremel attachment? I appeciate the date label...now I finally know what that little number is for, and why it mysteriously changes every day!

It doesn't look bad by any means and I like when a company tries new things but I think I prefer the stark white in contrast to the black dial on most of their pilot watches.

The “new” Damasko is the Timeless DB1 with a new second hand. Regardless, Watchmann should have been the place Damasko sent limited editions to anyway instead of Timeless (Shameless).

You can certainly see it is a Mercer. The logo is quite large.

Now that I got the Zelos GMT craving taken care of, my mind went straight to GShocks because I had only recently learned more about their origins and engineering that went into them. Really cool stuff!

The metal squares that came out last year caught my eye and I really liked the silver metal square with the resin band, but as I looked around more, I saw that Casio came out with new blue and black versions on the resin band and I think they look really good! The blue especially should look pretty awesome and different depending on the lighting.

I haven't seen anything as to whether these watches will be coming to the US, but they are available in Asia now.

Relojesdemoda out of Spain has the GMW-B5000G-2 for $417 and they ship to the US for an extra $13.50. I don't see myself owning this but I would love to try one on and wear it for a day to find out.
