As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Farer is a microbrand based in the UK that is probably best known for making great use of color to distinguish their watches from the rest of the field. A couple years ago they came out with the Lander GMT and the "sea green" dial was a hit. Now they have followed it up with the Farer Lander Automatic Chronograph, which uses the same color scheme. Available for pre-order now.

I agree, and for anybody who stumbles across this, here's a few more. I've had a few at one time or another.

We need impressions!
Have not actually worn it yet -- my four-year-old is off school today and I've been playing with him. Not exactly a new watch friendly activity.

Immediate first impressions:
*I really like the color/style. It's slightly more understated than the pics show. Deeper colors.
*Size is great. Will be very wearable. Pretty thin.
*Feels well built, as expected. The crown hand winds and sets more freely than other ETA watches I've had, though I've only owned 2824-2 watches. Not sure if this is a characteristic of this particular movement or not.
*It's a 60-click bezel. This is my first GMT watch but I think 24 (or 48 maybe?) makes more sense. That's really the only negative I see now.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Over at A Blog to Watch is a preview of the new Longines HydroConquest All-Black Ceramic Watch
https://www.ablogtowatch.com/longines-h ... mic-watch/

Dimensions: 43mm
Water Resistance: 300 meters
Case Material: Black Ceramic
Crystal/Lens: Sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating
Movement: Caliber L888.3
Frequency: 25,200 VPH
Power Reserve: 64 hours
Strap/Bracelet: Black Rubber with ceramic deployant
Price & Availability: TBA

I wonder how affordable it will be, how much of a price bump it will be over the standard HydroConquests? If not too much more, this could be the first Longines I add to my collection.

CHF 3,500 is the retail price but I imagine it won't take too long for actual prices paid to drop well below that. The newish Hydroconquests with the ceramic bezels rather than aluminum go for about $1280 and up. So somewhere in between I guess. I probably won't ever own this but I think it looks great.

Here's one I ran across today, though it was announced in January. The Polish microbrand Vratislavia has a number of models coming out this year. The one that catches my eye the most is the "Architekt." It's got a JLC sector dial vibe. 40.5 mm wide and only 11.8mm thick, including the AR coated sapphire crystal. Miyota 9105. 100m water resistance. All shipped for $430. I have bought from them before and was quite happy.

Here's a pic the site says is a computer render:

He's got a facebook page that he posts on regularly, though I don't often go there since I don't have a FB account anymore. There might be prototype pics up there.
