Previously there has been a version of the 65 with a bronze bezel only. And there was also the fully bronze Carl Brashear Limited Edition 65. However this new one sports a stainless steel case with a bronze bezel insert. It is available on leather or on a bracelet featuring bronze center links and stainless steel outer links. Oris reports the particular bronze alloy used here will develop only a light patina.

For the most part I like this one and find it interesting but I think I prefer the fully bronze Carl Brashear 65.
I like this new idea!

Oris is masterful at exploring color ways of successful designs. Possibly the best.

I really dig that bracelet. Can’t say I’ve seen anyone play with bronze in such a fashion. I may have to get this one if the price is fair.

2019 New and Upcoming Releases!

Post by norsairius »

The Zelos “Horizons” GMT is finally here! I’ve been waiting for this one since it was first announced. I picked up the grey right away. I thought about the meteorite, but couldn’t justify it for another $100, for me anyway.

Starting price is $650 for slate, green, or blue dials. $750 for grey meteorite.

Man, this one is really tempting me. Unfortunately that's not in the budget at the moment so I'd have to sell my Squale. Seriously considering it.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

I'm impressed with the pricing on these. Elaboré grade ETA 2893 for $650 is great, especially with 2 straps and a watch roll. The website says it goes up to $850 on 5/19. I haven't followed Zelos too closely but I usual don't like their designs. They often seem to pair a super shiny, sunburst, glittery patterned dial with a bronze case that will take on a antiquey steampunky patina. The two elements just don't mix well to my eye. But the design on this one looks really good to me. Cool watch.

Bah, I had some regrets later for not getting the meteorite dial because I don't know when I'll have another opportunity to get one in a watch like this at a price I can afford so I sent in a request to cancel my order for the slate grey and then I ordered the meteorite.

Hopefully that order cancellation goes through, or else I might have two of these for a short while!

Elshan has been amazing to work with though, so I trust he'll work with me on this one if both get sent out and I end up needing to return one. I blame my indecisiveness for putting me in this situation though, haha, so I also accept responsibility.

More bronze, this time from Bell & Ross. The BR V2-94 Bellytanker Bronze is an automatic chronograph with production limited to 999 pieces. B & R tells us the bronze case of this watch has been passivated, meaning it won't develop the patina that most bronze watches are known for.

Those who pre-ordered previous models from Zelos, could you please share your experience? Thanks a lot in advance.

I haven’t preordered, but I’ve placed an order directly via the site for a watch that had been on sale for a while.

Zelos is a one-man operation so your watch might not get shipped out the next day or for a few days after placing your order, but you will get your watch.

Elshan is a good guy and I’ve exchanged a few emails with him before. I’d say you could easily buy with confidence.

I placed an order for the new Horizons without any concerns or hesitations.
