As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

~38mm tool watch?

Post by Robotaz »

One of my best friends texted me and said his lame smart watch is dying and he wants to get a “regular” watch.

I immediately sent a link to the RZE watch site and pointed out they are 40.5mm or so and would be perfect. He replied back that he’s more of a 38mm guy. He is about 5’-7” and smaller framed, so that seems legit and fair to need a 38mm.

Problem is, I’m stumped. I have a 7.5” wrist and honestly don’t even know about 38mm watches beyond maybe Grand Seiko or Rolex, which is very little.

Does anybody know of a good ~38mm watch that’s not a dress watch?

Hamilton Khaki Field? Automatic, hand-wind, quartz. Lots of different 38mm models.

I'm 5'-6", here's a photo of the Khaki Mechanical for reference on 6.5-6.75" wrist.

Do you have any idea on what he's looking at in terms of:

Budget
Aesthetic
Automatic vs mechanical vs quartz vs ecodrive

Edit: Errr... Yeah, what the other guys asked.

Answering all, yes, Hamilton is a no-brainer. I feel dumb now.

He is in no way a WIS, so I’m saying $500 tops.

I think Hamilton gray market is probably the answer.

If you think of any others, I’ll be watching.

Thank you!

This Certina should fit the bill at $289.
Black dial goes with everything.

Great idea. I forwarded to him.

I noticed that has a 2824 instead of SW200. I like.

Many Frederique Constant quartz dress watches are 38mm & under.
