Current work in progress. Why do I keep buying these digitals with the tiny clips that hold in the pushers? Anyway, almost to reassembly.

Re: >>>< The Ultimate Timex Thread ><<<
Here's my Corona Virus MoT contribution. One of the first thing that I've learned and was heavily biased was that Timex does not do Lume well. Given that the 95% of their watches have Indiglo; it never occurred to me to really find out and just took it as reality.
Fast forward a couple of years later and a few dozens of watches. I will agree, that there are a few watches that have lumed hands without having proper markers lumed; which makes it very difficult to read after waking up in the middle of the night; however, on total darkness it fares pretty decent up to 45 min to be able to tell the time without Indiglo.
There was no plan to make this post; but once I captured a couple of watches, I just kept going and then just wanted to actually 'TEST' the performance of the Lume. The first one is an older Ana-Digi model; which in total darkness and after letting my eyes adjust; I could still see the hands. All watches were put under a desk LED lamp for less than 60 seconds.
What did I learn about this test? Even the $25 New England has a decent lume and the Flyback IQ hast lumed numbers. Never realized that before.
as an added note; one of those WTF Timex moments... the one watch you would actually expect to have some Lume the Todd Snyder Military and the Timex Sierra which is not an entry level watch, does not have any lume. WTF Timex! :rodekaart

How often do you have to change batteries?
Do you do it as they shut down or just all at once?

Re: >>>< The Ultimate Timex Thread ><<<
.... that is a bit of a tricky question.... I guess most of the time the best answer is soon after after they stop.. or about to stop (you can tell by a few signs and giveways... like Indiglo becomes dimmer and slowly start losing time)
out of timex... I try to do it as soon as possible.... I do it myself in most of the cases.... except when for some odd reasons the manfucturer throws you a big wall to deal with.... as with a IR Invicta that I cannot remove the case back. I would probably need to take it to a Jeweler or the Invicta sales stand at the Mall... but that has been stopped for over a year.... so.... not high on the priority list even for a Swiss Piece, My TX and Bulova crews get a lot more riding than much of Invictas.
When I buy out of Timex.. I've been trying to stick with Autos or Solars... so I don't have to spend the time and effort with batts.
BTW... newest addition to the TX stable fresh from the Ebay used ranks... and most probably will be Modded to continue with my 'Elevated Scout' Trilogy.

You can also use a tap 10 stem extender. Let me know if you want to try that as I have a spare extender I can send you.Wolfsatz wrote:TXer Family...

I just have the extender, but not an extra Scout stem. You’ll need to look up the process, I think Esslinger has a video.Wolfsatz wrote:Tap 10 extender and a regular Scout Stem? Sure ..
