As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

I couldn't pick a color and really liked the design, . . . . so I ordered all four of these, . . . not shipping until May, but I'm very much looking forward to receiving them! Picture isn't mine, but shamelessly copied from Goodspeed's website:

I, for one, am always interested in what the final product looks like compared to the renderings. It will be interesting to compare all four. Great pickup!

I, too, am very curious to see how these turn out. I'll be sure to post some pictures when they finally do arrive. At my request, Jeremy, the owner of Goodspeed, sent me the below pictures of the black and green prototypes, I'm guessing those should be pretty close, but only time will tell.

Wow - yes, quite a wonderful European tour your watch seems to be on! I lived in southern Spain for two years during the late 80s, . . . absolutely beautiful and an altogether unforgettable experience.

My first Buyee/Yahoo! Auctions Japan purchase.

Image

These were officially issued railway watches in Japan in the 1960s through the mid-1970s, and not sold to the public. They use the Citizen 0911 movement, which was the base for the 0920 movement used in Citizen's Chrono Master line which itself was equivalent to Seiko's King Seiko and Grand Seiko of the era.

21 jewels, hand-wound and runs at 18,000vbh. It hacks (Second Setting), which would have been essential for a railroad timekeeping tool.

The case backs were all engraved with issue information; Railroad, serial number, etc. I'll need to find someone that can read Japanese to translate it for me.

Same movement, different watch:
