After admiring Rabirnie's Vostok for the past few weeks, I decided to get my own. Love that yellow.

Great choice! Let me know how you like it. It’s a quirky, charming watch.Stretch44 wrote:After admiring Rabirnie's Vostok for the past few weeks, I decided to get my own. Love that yellow.

I will! Just ordered an Archer slate grey canvas strap for it too.

My next Vostok will be a no-date. I know how to semi-quickset them, but it’s still a PITA.

Do you use an electric screwdriver to do it? That is what I did. If I ever order a replacement bezel for mine, I am going to order some spare date rings and try to mod them so that they are all question marks.ManOnTime wrote:My next Vostok will be a no-date. Once the date changes I go forward to 5:00am and backward to 8:00pm and then forward to 5:00am (date will change at midnight), repeat as needed. Do it slowly and you should have no issues. Takes about 50% off the time of going through the date change the "proper" way.
This is a trick I picked up from my vintage Timex watches.

Not all of them will do it, however every Vostok I've had would.TheJohnP wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:52 pmManOnTime wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:28 pm

Incoming! What have you got in the mail?
I finally snagged a Momentum/St. Moritz SLK for my brother after finding one for myself in March. Took a while, but got this one for $40.
Edit: The watch from March is currently on loan to my brother, so this one might be mine. Killer small Titanium digital that shows current time in every mode. Worth hunting 6+ months for.

Re: Incoming! What have you got in the mail?
Not incoming in the mail, but incoming nonetheless. I have agreed to buy a Sinn 104 green dial pre-owned and am doing a F2F deal on Tuesday.
Later this month I should finally be getting the Ianos Avyssos that I ordered from KS back in the spring.
Neither pic is mine, but I hope to be sharing my own wrist shots soon.

Outside of work and exercise, I typically don't quartz very often......and when I do, I digital . But while I was browsing Amazon's watch deals page, I came across this reference. And while cross-checking prices, I found one way cheaper on ebay. And the seller accepted a lower offer. So I'm gonna be giving another try with a popular and cool-looking quartz piece.

I'm the same as you but the past 3 weeks or so I've been itching hard to pull the trigger on oneyinzburgher wrote:Outside of work and exercise, I typically don't quartz very often......and when I do, I digital . Re: Incoming! What have you got in the mail?
Got a couple of things coming...
1. Been stalking the black dial Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical (H69429931) for a while, finally jumped on it. "Barely used" on eBay $304 (inc taxes, shipping) - $22 8% eBay bucks = $282
2. Glycine Combat 6 36mm (GL0102) blue dial from Ashford
3. A few straps from Watch Steward. I like the NATO look except for the thickness they add and "bun" you get from tucking the extra length. Curious if these straps will work better. I ordered the "minimalist" ones that don't go under the watch case at all.
