As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

This just arrived from Hong Kong. December 2003 SKX in great shape and an even better price!

When I initially got into watches, I eschewed this piece in favor of other divers. However, over time I grew to love the case size, styling, and the fact it was just a watch that had stood the test of time. Then I realized it could be modded and upgraded to a better movement and I needed one. Of course at that point, Seiko decided to discontinue... I tried picking one up from Jet during the Ergode debacle, but finally picked one up at a reasonable price.

Wrong Thread! Post edited. Maybe that means that I need to purchase a new watch... hmmm.

Seeing that Sporkboy is borrowing his neighbor's vintage Timex Camper made me miss the one I had, so I went browsing on eBay.

Found one still on the original strap, placed a low-ball bid and it was immediately accepted. I guess I didn't go low enough!

Now I need a tube of Polywatch.

Funny how we feed each other’s obsession here. Anyway, auto headlamp polish will work just as well as poly watch and you may have that already.

Another ebay Vostok impulse buy. I think this'll clean up nicely.

I deliberated for a while on this- I've never been a huge fan of dive chronographs- but this one finally got to me. I absolutely love the Glycine combat Sub case, and I've never owned a full blacked out PVD watch before. I'm excited!

I have the stainless model. I absolutely love it. I thought it was a great deal at the $250 I paid for it. $150 is absolutely stealing it.

I've always wondered if the bracelet fits other Combat Subs.

I splurged and decided to get myself an anOrdain Model 1.

They are a Scottish watch company known for their grand feu enamel dial that is produced in house. They apparently use hardened cases (not to the Sinn level). They regulate the movement and adjust it to the purchaser's wearing habits (they ask if you wear your watch on your left or right).

The first generation of Model 1 piqued my interest but I did not fancy the logo placement and the hands that much, but this recently-released generation 2 fixed all of those minor complaints.

I have always gone for safe colours but given the characteristics of an enamel dial, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try a "wild" colour, so I went for the teal..but now I am having second thoughts haha... There is a 4-6 week wait so I guess I could change it (soon) if needed.

I also like their Model 2, especially its size of 36mm but I'd prefer it with a running seconds hand and an automatic movememt (nothing against HW, just a preference for my next watch).

Congrats!

I think you made a great pick. Both with the brand and the dial color.

They have been on my radar for a while, but out of my budget. Thankfully I have the incoming Antoine Tavan to satiate wanting an enamel dial.

Hope this arrives by the time the next GTG rolls around, would love to see this in person.

Thank you, TheJohnP! Is the Antoine Tavan on schedule? If the rumors are true and they are going to have the GTG in May, mine might just make it!

Haven't been checking the French watch forum where Roger is active. But hope things are on track.

Got a sweet deal on a not so easy to find Certina DS-N1. This watch dates to the late 1970's and was specifically designed for Certina by Roger Tallon...the French designer who is also known for his designs for LIP watches and the interior of the TGV bullet train. This one is in fairly good condition with the original certina bracelet and signed NSA designed expandable clasp.
