Haha, fair enough. Here's pics. Project was fun and my next project is to tear down a movement and put back together. Incoming!

I just got the "Almirante Navegante" (= Admiral Navigator), the last watch of the guys from CREPAS and Táctico.

It is a crossing between a dual crown diver and a marine type watch. In the marine side, the silver dial pays tribute to a French chronometer of the Marine Service Hydrographique from a century ago. As a diver, has a watertightness of 200M or 120 spanish fathoms (1 braza = 1,6718 meters), screw-in crowns, viton gaskets, Superluminova lumed hands and mobile bezel.

Its caliber is a Seiko NH38. The case was already used in a Tactico watch, and its quality and finish is far superior to that expected in a watch of that price. Thus, for example, the back looks very well engraved, not poorly to laser. And, of course, sapphire crystal.

The watch comes with a handy travel case, not with a useless box that takes up room and picks up dust in a wardrobe. The set is completed by two straps with signed buckle (one NATO and one crocodile print), a nice screwdriver and a cleaning cloth.

Wristshot...

The watch came today. Pics are mine, and it's on my wrist.

I think it's a lot of watch for the money. I think the typical microbrand watch is worth about 250 or 300 euros, and may not come with such a complete set.

It looks very well finished for its price. Dial is satin silver, hands are blued, caseback engravings are nicely definded, and has some good details that I have not cited, such as the crown with a click and not two, hiding a date.

I only see a little con. Screw-in lug bars for the strap, like the Dreyfuss we have. Again, I suggest to put a small drop of glue.

Or better threadlock...to keep the screws from loosening and falling out.

Keep after them...it took me 4 or 5 emails and about 5 weeks to get mine from Dreyfuss.

Thanks for the heads up.

It costs £15 to ship to me in Singapore! Total around £30. [emoji27]

Late last night, TheJohnP posted some great Seiko deals from Shnoop.com, so I went Shnoopin' around myself and found a brand new Seiko SKXA35 for $150 after a 10% discount code. I had been on the site a few days before and there were no signs of any Seiko divers at that time. It's not so common to see these anymore, let alone at such a low price, so I pulled the trigger. I had to, right?

Rumor has it that low strength thread locker is what works best with watches and other small screws. Lecture 222 (purple) should do it https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-555339- ... 8-10-spellDear lord don’t use the red stuff.

As a follow-up, I am ecstatic about how this Samurai mod turned out... and that the short lugs allow me to wear a 44mm watch. Crazy.

recapt wrote:Ever have that experience where a watch that has never interested you suddenly becomes an obsession? That happened to me recently with the Samurai, but only after I saw this bezel & insert mod pic on IG.

So now I have the Samurai (SRPB51), the bezel and bezel insert pictured above, and a blacked-out Erika’s Originals all inbound. I went all-in... and now I can’t wait for this thing to come together!
