The Traveling Komandirskie. Who wants it?

Post by Dub Rubb »

This thread is inspired by a similar one on F10 over on WUS. Basically, this watch is going to go on a journey all around the world and hopefully end up back in my possession with lots of stories to tell.

First to post their interest will have it shipped to them on my dime. All other posters interested will be added to a list that will go in order of posting.

The idea is that you wear the watch for a couple weeks(not full time obviously, I am not a maniac!) And take some pics of it visiting some of your local sights. Then you ship it off to the next on the list on your dime and so on and so forth.

Once their is say 5 people interested, I will ship it off to #1. Qualifying members must have been here on MoT for at least 1 month and have at least 5 posts to be eligible. Hopefully this gains some traction and this Tankist can see some cool places. Feel free to change straps to your liking as well.

Also, we need to come up with a name for him since he will now be a part of this community. The name of the watch on F10 was Vlad, so that is out. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Anyone interested please post your general location i.e state/province/country or whatever to be added to the list.

What a fun idea.

I don't think I'll be visiting anywhere cool soon, but I hope Sdelka (deal, bargain) has wonderful adventures.

It doesn't have to be anywhere cool MoT!! It could be a local hiking trail or cool post office/church in your town. Sdelka (already sold on the name BTW) just wants to see the world!

This is really funny bc I was just about to post a traveling watch here...the really funny part is that here is the watch:

What do you think about doing both of them and naming them Boris and Natasha?

Great to see some interested parties! This is Dub Rubb ‘s show, so I believe he still needs 5 interested members to start, and “Qualifying members must have been here on MoT for at least 1 month and have at least 5 posts to be eligible.” I think Edremit you are not quite a member that long, so it will be up to Dubb. Let’s see how long it takes to get 5+ interested to meet Dubb’s criteria for starting.

If enough interest, then perhaps we start the second watch circulating, too.

Happy to show it around Wales in the UK (or maybe South Africa depending on when it gets to me!).

That's hilarious. Great minds think alike eh?!? A 'Dirskie is perfect for something like this, and the Tankist is one of my favorites. I do like your vintage one slightly more though.

I am going to grant a one time exception to my rule to Edremit solely because one of his first posts here was a watch and beverage picture and has made some contributions in his short time here.

I appreciate being included. I was a frequent lurker at a previous location and only recently rediscovered HUISABH.

Looks like this is gonna happen!

I am flying out for work for a few days, but Sdelka should be on his(her?) way by Thursday.
